Every day seems to bring new developments in London involving international intrigue and Islamic radicalism. Today's headline includes car bombs packed with gas and nails in the heart of Piccadilly that could potentially have killed hundreds. Islamic radicals openly demonstrate in London shouting "death to the Queen" because Salman Rushdie was Knighted, or whatever the latest excuse for rage is. Foreign Spy's are murdered by other foreign spy's with lethal doses of radiation or thrown off high rise balconies. Today's car bomb discovery was a simple matter of luck, and not the product of good intelligence or police work. Fortunately, the perpetrators simply botched it. London is becoming a real free-for-all.

London police probe death of billionaire Ashraf Marwan, alleged Mossad agent
The Newspaper Haaretz reported that an Israeli court ruled that Major General (Res.) Eli Zeira, who headed Israeli Military Intelligence during the war in 1973, leaked Marwan's identity, placing his life in danger. Two weeks later, the man flew off of a balcony in London. Further proof of my contention that the worst kept secrets are in Israel. For more info on Ashraf Marwam, check out this article: Egyptian billionaire ‘who spied for Mossad’ found dead

Hasta La Vista Baby
Arnold Schwarzenegger was Tony Blair's last guest as Prime Minister at No10 Downing today. Blair is expected to be appointed to the £100,000-a-year job overseeing peace efforts in the Palestinian territories. The appointment was expected to be announced today, but looks likely to be announced tomorrow instead. Lets all hope that he does not suffer the same fate as his fellow Briton, Alan Johnston of the BBC.
Summing up the Blair years: in the first year or so of Blair's administration, I had the habit of referring to him as "Phony Blair". But over time Blair won me over. He proved to be a principled and decent individual with a firm belief system. He did not fall into the trap of pandering to his party's left wing. Thatchers economic reforms, and alliance with America were kept in tact. As his popularity began to wane he stuck to his principles. I have plenty of minor criticisms but the big picture will clearly show that Tony Blair was a successful Prime Minister; a good, honest man who did his best. Unfortunately, he is being set up for failure with this new "Middle East Special Envoy" position, which in my view will only force him to pander to extremist elements, damaging his image.

Lefty-crapman Revisited - The Liberal Equivalent of the Flag Raising on Iwo Jima
A quick reminder of the "intellectual depth" of the far left in this country. The image that many of us can't forget: A lefty "anti-war" demonstrator defecating on an American flag in Portland in front of a crowd of "progressives", including children. Thank you liberal America, a monument to this guy will undoubtedly be unveiled in Berkley:
By contrast: Of course, in the liberal mind, those who raised the flag on Iwo Jima did so, so that this "demonstrator" in Portland would have the right the defecate on that flag, and that he is actually a hero of sorts, morally equivalent to the Iwo Jima flag raisers because he is courageously exercising his unpopular right to crap on the flag. This is how the liberal mind works. It's truly a psychotic condition that requires years of therapy.
John Stuart Mill:"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing that is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept free by the exertions of other men better than himself."

Judge Rules in Favor of Dry Cleaners in $54 Million Pants Lawsuit
I posted on this story when it first appeared, so a follow-up would be appropriate. It seems that the Judge ruled against the other Judge who filed the ridicules suit, and awarded the owners of the dry cleaners court cost (not the same as legal fees).
That this case ever got to trial is a stunning indictment of the US legal system. It lingered in the system for two years, putting these small business owners through hell on earth, nearly bankrupting them and causing them to flee the country.
The fact that the plaintiff is a sitting Judge tells you a lot about our justice system. The man should be disbarred, forced to pay all costs and fees, and sent to a mental institution for evaluation. Instead, the system took his claim of $64 million dollars for a pair of pants seriously. Side note: is the Judge-plaintiff in question a Democrat? I don't know yet but I'm giving it a 99% chance.

Cameron's Mao Bag raises Eyebrows in Peru, home to former ruthless Maoist insurgency
I love stories of lefty Hollywood types getting in trouble while trekking around the world assuming that Hollywood values apply automatically everywhere. Last month I posted on Richard Gere being brought up on charges of obscenity in India after planting a kiss on a famous Indian actress on stage at an "AIDS awareness" event. Today we have Cameron Diaz strolling about Peru with a Hollywood-trendy Mao bag. Peru, of course, was home of a ruthless Maoist terrorist insurgency that killed thousands during the 80's and 90's. Diaz, being the Hollywood lefty-airhead that she is, had no clue of that traumatic history, or that Mao might not be as appreciated in Peru as he is in a place like Hollywood, where left-wing murdering tyrants like Mao and Che Gavera are celebrated as pop-culture "cool."

Friday Night Reflection
I grew up in Mobile Alabama in the 1960's and was raised to respect and identify with the struggle of Blacks for equality. Our family was unusual that way, especially in the deep South at that time. I remember my grandfather, a religious man, would not tolerate any kind of derogatory language of blacks in his presence, even if in light-hearted jest, and he was the first to hire black engineers in the deep south, a move that created tension and hostile phone calls to his home. It was only years later, reflecting back, that I am able to truly appreciate what a principled and decent man he was, and can only hope to live up to his example.
I am truly perplexed at how so many blacks have since adopted the Democratic party as their ideological home. The Democratic party was the party of slavery, and later the party of Jim Crow. Indeed, every single KKK segregationist in the South was a Democrat (most people forget this). Sheriff Bull Conner and everyone like him were card carrying Democrats. Republicans waged a great war at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives to establish that slavery would not stand in America. Republicans voted proportionally in higher numbers for the 1964 Civil Rights act than did Democrats. That legacy alone should be enough to cause every African American to pause and reflect.
In the song above, Sam Cooke expresses the powerful desire for basic dignity that was so wrongly denied of an entire people because of race. African America's truly share a unique history in America. It's a shame that in our grievance-culture, so many other groups like CAIR and NOW and La Raza have hitched an undeserving "victimization" ride on the African American experience, cheapening it in the process.
Iran's intends to "swarm" the US Navy with 1,000 heavily armed speedboats in the Gulf
The tactic will be to overwhelm the larger, slower moving US navel vessels and choke off the Straits of Hormuz (in image) where 40% of the worlds oil supply moves through. The Iranian vessels are armed with cruise missiles, mines, torpedoes and rocket-propelled grenades, are up to 23 meters in length and can reach a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The idea is to surprise and "swarm" large US naval vessels with up to 100 attack speedboats at a time, overwhelming our superior firepower with surprise, speed and numbers.
Meanwhile, A third US carrier, USS Enterprise Strike Group is speeding towards the Persian Gulf: According to DEBKAfile’s military sources, (not always reliable according to my experience): The US naval build-up off the shores of Iran marks rising military tensions in the region, accentuated by last week’s Hamas victory which has endowed Iran with a military foothold on Israel’s southwestern border. The USS Enterprise CVN 65-Big E Strike Group will join the USS Stennis and the USS Nimitz carriers, building up the largest sea, air, marine concentration the United States has ever deployed opposite Iran.

UK Muslims: 'May God Curse the Queen'..."death to the Queen"... as they Burn the Flag of England
Britain's enemy-within were on the streets of London again today, this time directing their regularly scheduled rage at the Knighting of author Salman Rushdie. The demonstrators carried signs calling on God to curse the Queen, shouting "death to the Queen" and burning a flag of St. George. (Question: is anyone in England familiar with the word "DEPORTATION"?).
Meanwhile. in Pakistan anti British fervor is reaching new heights over the Knighting of Rushdie: "The British government has not withdrawn the title which has not only disappointed the entire Pakistani nation but has also hurt it. This august house again calls on the British government and its Prime Minister Tony Blair to immediately withdraw the title... and tender an apology to the Muslim world," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sher Afgan Niazi told the Pakistan National Assembly.
Religious Affairs Minister Mohammad Ejaz-ul-Haq, son of Pakistan's late military president Mohammad Zia-ul-Haq, told the assembly this week that if someone committed a suicide bombing to protect the Prophet Mohammad's honour, his act was justified.
A hard line cleric called on Wednesday for Rushdie to be killed and the next day the speaker of the Punjab provincial assembly said blasphemers should be killed. A group of traders in Islamabad on Thursday offered a reward of 10 million rupees ($165,000) to anyone who killed Rushdie. I can already imagine a nuclear armed Pakistan going the way of Gaza.
Meanwhile, even with the fatwa on his head, Rushdie and his girlfriend are looking fine if I may say so myself (check out that scar on her arm!).

Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul are the Only Members to Vote Against Referring Iran to UN Trial for Incitement to Genocide
It was a bizarre display on the house floor as two members of congress running for President from opposite parties (but from the same alien planet) joined forces to vote against referring the leader of Iran to the UN for violations of its 'incitement to genocide' rules, for repeatedly calling for the complete destruction of the State of Israel. Apparently, the two congressmen either have no problem with Israel's destruction, or believe the entire issue of Israel's annihilation to be "none of our business." There are simply no words to describe the revulsion at these two moral misfits, who even look like founding members of the Hail-bop cult. The vote was 411 to 2. Members who are usually unfriendly to Israel such as John Conyers or Dana Rorbocher voted for sanity on this one.

Abbas: Hamas are 'murderous terrorists.' Carter: They're just a "Resistance Group"
While Jimmy Carter refers to Hamas as a "resistance group" and believes that they should be "engaged" by the West, the Palestinian Authority President refers to Hamas as "Murderous terrorists" and insists that there should be no dialogue with them. This raises the question: Is Jimmy Carter more Palestinian than the President of the Palestinian Authority? I will admit that it is strange that only a few days ago, Abbas considered Hamas "legitimate partners" in his "national unity" government. It's amazing what a few murderous rampages will do to a man's opinion. Abbas sounds like a former terrorist who has been mugged by a more ruthless terrorists, and is suddenly describing Hamas in terms that one would expect from an Israeli Prime Minister. Don't misunderstand, I like the overnight conversion but the entire situation is incredibly strange. This is going to take a little getting use to.

Stunning CBS News Report on Iraqi Orphanage Discovery
It is rare that a mainstream US media outlet will capture the positive essence of what our soldiers are doing in Iraq. Every left-wing Democrat, starting with Harry Ried and Nancy Pelosi, should be rounded up, locked in a dark room and shown this video over and over again. Just as German citizens were marched by US soldiers into the concentration camps to wittiness the evil, so they won't be able to deny it later.
The religion that gave birth to this type of inhumanity...well, there are simply no words. CBS News whom I rarely have praise for, deserve all the credit in the world for this report which brought me to tears. This is truly on a par with WWII concentration camp horrors, not on the scale, but on the shear inhumanity of it.

For Gaza's Christians, it's a New Hell on Earth
Sheik Abu Saqer: "I expect our Christian neighbors to understand the new Hamas rule means real changes. They must be ready for Islamic rule if they want to live in peace in Gaza, Christians can only continue living safely in the Gaza Strip if they accept Islamic law, including a ban on alcohol and on women roaming publicly without proper head coverings. Christians in Gaza who engage in "missionary activity" will be "dealt with harshly."
The dark new reality for Gaza's estimated 2,000 Christians comes after gunmen on Sunday attacked Gaza's Latin Church and adjacent Rosary Sisters School, reportedly destroying crosses, bibles, pictures of Jesus and furniture and equipment. The attackers also stole a number of computers.

The Neocon Carbon Off-set Program and Universal Lawyer-Care
The Neocon is considering opening a Carbon Off-set company just like Al Gore's: Soon you will be able to send me your money, and I promise to arrange for trees to be planted, and to do a few other things to "off-set" your troubling carbon "footprint" so you can feel better about yourself. I'll even send you a fancy certificate made out of recycled paper that you can frame and put on your office wall to impress your co-workers. Get your checkbooks ready!
I am also about to propose a Universal Lawyer-care system whereby everybody in America is issued a little plastic card, like a credit card, and with that card, you can go to the Lawyer of your choice at any time, and have the government pay for all your legal fees! My guess is that if given a choice, most Americans would prefer to have free lawyer-care at their disposal than free health-care. And since most Americans are less likely to get cancer than they are to engage in a frivolous lawsuit, or get sued frivolously, my Universal Lawyer-care proposal will actually be more beneficial than Hillary-care!

Lebanon: We will spare no effort to find those behind attack on Israel
A strange, if temporary moment of sanity seems to be taking hold: The UN recognized the seriousness of the cease fire breach, the Lebanese Army announced moves to prevent attacks. Hezbollah distant themselves from the attack, and Israel committed itself to restraint....crisis postponed, for now.

The chaos and lawlessness in Gaza continues as the terrorist group Hamas consolidates its hold on that strip of Mediterranean coast on Israel's southern flank. This, as rockets are fired into northern Israel from Lebanon, the Iranian nuclear program proceeds uninterrupted, Iraq is a mess as the surge begins, 35 die in an Afghan suicide bombing and oil prices continue to surge. Many Palestinians flee Gaza to Israel
Apparently, many Palestinians feel safer running to Israel than living under a Hamas regime. The irony of such pictures cannot be overstated. They run to Israel because they know they will be treated humanly, as opposed to being slaughtered in the streets by their fellow Palestinians. All the propaganda, all the ugly rhetoric about the evil Israelis disappears when the chits are down; they run to Israel for protection and humanity. remember these pictures when your pot-smoking collage professor talks about the evil Jews oppressing the Palestinians. When the chits are down, Palestinians know where to run for saftey.

HAMAS SEIZES U.S.-FINANCED WEAPONS, EQUIPMENT
"Hello?... Condi Rice? ....Please Send my Regards to Your Buddy Abbas"
At Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' captured seaside office and home in Gaza City, a gunman sat down at the Fatah leader's desk, picked up the phone and pretended to be calling U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. "Hello, Rice?" the gunman said. "Here we are in Abu Mazen's office. Say hello to Abu Mazen for me." Other gunmen rifled through Abbas' personal belongings in a bedroom behind the office, lifting up a mattress and searching through drawers. The gunmen captured a massive amount of perfectly in-tact intelligence documents which includes names of informants.
Below are a couple of extraordinary pictures from an AP photographer who is undoubtedly closely linked to the terror group Hamas (which would explain his ability to shoot these photo's without being thrown from the roof of the building). The first is of Hamas gunmen occupying the desk of Palestinian President Abbas' Gaza office, the other is of a Hamas gunman stepping on a picture of Yasser Arafat, the terrorist God-father of the modern Palestinian movement. Hamas generally hold him in contempt because he was a corrupt, secular terrorist, as opposed to a religiously motivated terrorist.

At least 25 Palestinians were killed and 80 were wounded as Hamas fighters overran two of Fatah's most important security installations in the Gaza Strip on Thursday. Witnesses said the victors dragged vanquished gunmen from the building and shot them to death gangland-style in the street in front of their families. Hamas gunmen openly declared that 'This is the first step in the establishment of an Islamic state;' A happy home for al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Iran, Islamic Jihad, Muslim Brotherhood, and every other radical terror group imaginable. Hamas seizes PA intelligence materials, says Israeli and CIA tactics exposed: After overtaking the Palestinian Authority's Preventive Security headquarters in Gaza City on Thursday afternoon, Hamas fighters report they have seized tens of thousands of highly valuable intelligence documents, including correspondence between the PA and others, including the CIA, regarding security issues.
"If we release these documents, the entire world will be shocked, not just the Palestinians. The dozens of armored vehicles, RPG launchers and rockets, the hundreds of thousands of bullets we have – they are all nothing compared to the documents and data discs we uncovered. "There are video tapes of surveillance against our fighters and their homes, wiretaps on our calls, the PA's entire method of operation has been exposed," he said.

Iran moves to execute porn stars
Iran's parliament on Wednesday voted in favor of a bill that could lead to the death penalty for persons convicted of working in the production of pornographic movies.
With a 148-5 vote in favor and four abstentions, lawmakers present at the Wednesday session of the 290-seat parliament approved that "producers of pornographic works and main elements in their production are considered corrupter of the world and could be sentenced to punishment as corrupter of the world."
The term, "corrupter of the world" is taken from the Quran, the Muslims' holy book, and ranks among the highest on the scale of an individuals criminal offenses. Under Iran's Islamic Penal Code, it carries a death penalty.

"Brilliant:" US Supplied Arms Fall into Hamas Hands
Fatah officials confirmed that Hamas has seized large amounts of weapons and military equipment belonging to Abbas's security forces in the Gaza Strip. Some of the weapons were supplied to the PA in recent weeks by Egypt and Jordan as part of a US security plan to boost Fatah-controlled forces.
Hamas said it had seized thousands of M-16 and Kalashnikov rifles and pistols, communication equipment, armored vehicles, trucks, binoculars, military outfits, tents, sleeping bags, hand grenades, mortars and documents. Hamas representative Sami Abu Zuhri announced that his movement was now in control of 90 percent of the PA security installations and bases in the Gaza Strip, and that Hamas has captured documents proving Fatah's collaboration with the CIA.

Gaza on the Verge of Becoming a Full-blown Terrorist State
With fierce battles spreading across the Gaza strip, involving unprecedented brutality and barbarism, it seems that the Islamic terrorist group Hamas, backed by Hezbollah and Iran have the upper hand against the more secular Fatah, and are on the verge of gaining complete control. This would turn Gaza into a true terrorist haven for radical Islamists similar to Afghanistan under the Taliban, only this entity is not in far flung Afghanistan, but on the shores of the Mediterranean sea. In addition to Iran and Hezbollah, their primary backers who are Shia, they will undoubtedly also allie themselves with the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt and al Qaeda elements as well, creating more regional instability. This is truly a development with serious negative strategic implications well beyond the region. As these developments unfold, Israelis are surely contemplating; if this is how they treat their own, imagine if one day they had their way with the "infidel" populations of the region. Does anyone seriously doubt what the outcome would be?

Marcus Luttrell: Lone Survivor
Marcus Luttrell is the lone survivor of the members of Seal Team 10 who were ambushed in the mountains in Afghanistan. A stunning story of heroism. The team was engaged in a reconnaissance mission when they were discovered by a few unarmed goat herders. The team debated whether they should let the goat herders go, allowing them to return to their village controlled by the Taliban, or execute the goat herders on the spot to avoid detection by the enemy. A vote was taken by the team of four. Luttrell cast the deciding vote to let the herders go; A vote that he regrets to this day. "It was a stupid, mind-numbing liberal vote, where I allowed my heart to over-rule my brain." (full quote is actually even more stinging). The herders indeed returned to their village, informed the Taliban, and within an hour the Seal Team was surrounded by hundreds of Taliban fighters. Luttrell was the loan survivor of the ensuing events. Well worth the read. His new book is called 'Lone Survivor.' You must see this killer interview with Latrell on the Today Show here. After the Bomb
This article from the New York Times, authored by former Clinton Defence Secretary William J. Perry, and Harvard Professor Ashton B. Carter, deals with the aftermath of a terrorist nuclear attack on a US city. I give them credit for dealing with a difficult subject matter. However, I found the article strangely unwilling to deal with some of the more controversial questions that come to mind. Assuming the attackers to be Muslim extremists, how should we deal with the Muslim populations in the United States in such a scenario, knowing that it is impossible to distinguish between potential radicals and moderates? Would the public not demand expulsion or internment? Should we retaliate with a nuclear strike on Mecca? Evaporating Islam's holiest site? Should such a scenario be openly threatened in advance in order to gain whatever level of deterrence possible to try to avoid the attack to begin with? These are the difficult questions that never seemed to be asked, let alone answered in public. Perry and Carter avoid these obvious questions like the plague.
Lowry: The Age of Cynicism
Iran: We will trigger all-out regional war if attacked, and we will target civilians
"Ballistic missiles would be fired in mass against targets in the Persian Gulf states and Israel," one Iranian Foreign Ministry official said. "The objective would be to overwhelm US missile defense systems with dozens and maybe hundreds of missiles fired simultaneously at specific targets." The idea is to inflict maximum damage on the oil infrastructure of the Persian Gulf, and to close the straits of Hormuz, causing oil prices to rise, possibly by hundreds of dollars a barral, causing an immediate world-wide recession. Additionally, "Iran will open a freeway for terrorists from Afghanistan all the way to Lebanon, enabling the terrorists to strike in almost every country in the Middle East." Civilians will be targeted, and Israel will be blanketed with rockets, including Tel Aviv.
All of these threats coming from Iran are of course expected; the question becomes, is the world ready to live under this type of threat, where Iran is in a position to dictate its will through a balance of terror? Is the world ready to live under the cloud of a nuclear armed Iran? The Neocon's position is no, and that any short term price is worth paying to avoid a nuclear Iran, which will mean a massive nuclear arms race in the Middle East, global instability on an unimaginable scale and a much higher price to be paid down the road.
'Military plan against Iran is ready'
