First it was Israel's Olympic team that received special security consideration at the games. Then, after 9/11 the US team began to receive special security as well. Now the Danish team is receiving the same security arrangements. Does anybody remember the old World War II concentration camp survivor who said: "First they came for the Jews; I was not a Jew so I did not protest; Then they came for the Gypsies, I was not a Gypsies so I did not protest, then they came for"...fill in the blank..."and I did not protest. Then they came for me, and by that time it was too late because there was no one left to protest." Point? Those who think they are immune now will find themselves eventually in the same predicament. The liberal Danes certainly thought of themselves as immune.

In a new twist on the cartoon controversy, Metro Spy Cooperation has announced that it is now selling t-shirts with the Danish Cartoon that portrays Mohammed with a bomb in his turban. The demand for the t-shirts is so high that Metro Spy's web site has crashed as a result of a giant internet traffic-jam: "Due to exceptionally high traffic, our web server is running slow. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Israel: Hamas Victory Makes PA a "Terror State"

In a very interesting move with substantial implications for US foreign policy, Israel’s Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni presented some rather obvious, but non-the-less eye-opening observations in a meeting today with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Washington.

1) Hamas is officially listed as a terrorist organization by the US Government.
2) If Hamas assumes control of the Palestinian Authority Government as a result of their landslide victory in the recent Palestinian elections; that would clearly mean that the Palestinian entity (State), would legally be a terrorist entity (State).
3) If the US continues to provide financial assistance to a Hamas controlled Palestinian Government, in effect, the US will be, from a legal and real perspective, funding a terrorist entity.
4) The only way out of this conundrum is for Hamas to cease being a Terrorist Organization by suddenly renouncing all terror and recognizing Israel’s right to exist, which they have said they will not do.
5) Should the US fail to continue funding however, Hamas will likely turn to Iran to fill the financial void.

The Neocon Express believes that it will be far better to deal with reality in this dilemma, rather than trying to put lipstick on this pig…again. There is no point in pretending that Hamas didn’t win the election, that they suddenly, overnight will recognize Israel and renounce terror, even if they do so for the cameras as millions of US dollars are dangled in front of them to utter the magic, insincere State Department generated words. Let them burden Iran for funding. Let the chits be put on the table and play them as they really are. That will further the cause of peace that we all hope for in the long run, far more than continuing the fakery that has been US Middle East policy for some time now.

Danish Cartoons: Pathetic US Editors Cower in Fear! Of This:

Editors of large US publications have, for the most part, failed miserably in their responsibility to defend press freedom in light of the worldwide assault on those freedoms by violent Muslim rioters. These US Editors, who are usually very “brave” when it comes to controversial material involving any other religion or political persuasion, were quick to cower in fear, precisely at the moment when their steadfastness was needed most. The cartoons in question are ridiculously mild by Western standards (published on this and thousands of other web-sites) and readers have every right to see what all the anti-Western rioting is all about, and make up their own minds. Apparently, in the name of "responsible journalism" most Editors feel the need to censor and make that decision for you the reader. Fortunately, these folks no longer have the monopoly on the distribution of information that they once had, and the information is freely available all over the World Wide Web. It is however highly telling, and a dramatic reflection on the weak thought-process of many folks running these newspapers. It is no wonder that they are rapidly hemorrhaging readership, as well as credibility.

Speaking by phone, AP executive editor Kathleen Carroll told The Chronicle, "The cartoons didn't meet our long-held standards for not moving offensive content. The AP is not just an indiscriminate warehouse for information. We put a lot of care into what we put on the wire." Really! Wow!

Iran's Leading Paper to Hold 'Holocaust Cartoon Contest'

Iran’s number one selling newspaper, Hamshahri, has announced a “Holocaust Cartoon Contest.” Apparently, the idea is to test Western press freedoms and to expose “Western hypocrisy;” showing that Western papers refuse to run the Holocaust cartoons after running the Mohammed cartoons, as if there is a moral equivalency.

The Neocon Express will of course, encourage Western papers to publish these Iranian ‘Holocaust cartoons’ as a loud illustration of the demented mentality of those who would engage in such a sick endeavor. This website will certainly show them, and the Muslim world will then see that no Western rioting or burning of embassies will follow. Perhaps the contrast will be a useful lesson in tolerance and freedom for the Muslim world.

Danish Cartoons: Cowardice Exposed! Many Newspapers Run for the Hills in Fear!

The Danish cartoon issue has, incredibly, exploded into a direct threat to Western freedom as many publications are threatened directly or indirectly, and have quickly caved in to the intimidation. The attached article from Brisbane Australia is a small illustration, and serves as an example repeated all over the Western world. Has your local paper published these rather mild Danish cartoons, even within a news context? This is clearly one of the largest news stories in the world, so if not, you can guess why. Would your local paper show the same restraint or deference to any other interest group that dosn't riot? I contacted the Editor of my local paper and his excuse was “copyright issues.” Wow!

As Danish Embassy in Beirut is Torched; CNN Continues the Double Standard

As the Danish Embassy in Beirut is torched today, CNN still refuses to show the mild Danish cartoons causing riots all over the Muslim world, even within a "news context." However, In an interview with the Saudi Ambassador to the US moments ago, Wolf Blitzer was quick to show virulent anti-Semitic cartoons published in the Arab press to rightly demonstrate the double standard, a double standard that CNN unfortunately continues to perpetuate by refusing to show the Danish cartoons. The reason that the Neocon believes it important to show these cartoons is so that folks in the West can see for themselves how mild these cartoons actually are by Western standards. That is a newsworthy and legitimate editorial consideration that surly outweighs the possibility that Muslim's might riot, which they are doing anyway! The Cartoons are available on thousands of blogs, including this one. The Neocon also congratulates Human Events in Washington for publishing them on its front page.

Non-the-less, this is good news in the sense that Iran will now face potential sanctions and worse. Iran has threatened to “go nuclear” by all out enrichment if it was referred to the Security Council. Now we will all get to see just how serious these threats were. The more Iran follows through on its threats, the higher likelihood of sanctions and eventual military action against its facilities.

Danish Cartoons: Western Embassies Torched!!!

TODAY WE ARE ALL DANISH: In the West, tolerance of the intolerant is a virtual religion. Naturally, this tolerance will also extend to the torching of Western Embassies by fanatic Muslim mobs as we see today in Syria. Today it is the Danish and Norwegian Embassies, but really, it could have been any Western Embassy. An attack on Denmark should be viewed as an attack on New York or London! The Neocon predicts that no Western retaliation will occur and the precedent of torching Western embassies without consequences will unfortunately stand. This type of behavior will be gradually escalated until somebody in the West wakes up and declares from the rooftops: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

LA Times Won't Publish Danish Cartoons, Anti-Semitic Cartoons are OK

The Los Angeles Times printed an Editorial today (Friday) defending the right to free speech in light of the Danish cartoon controversy. Towards the end of the Op-Ed the LA Times proudly proclaims: "For our part, The Times has not reprinted these (the Danish) insensitive images, even as a means of shedding light on the controversy in Europe." Really? Please take a look above at only one of the many LA Times anti-Semitic cartoons published routinely over the years by that paper. Notice the religious Jew praying towards the holiest site in Judaisim, the Wailing wall, where the stones spell out HATE. The caption reads "Worshiping their God." Message? Jews are hate worshipers. That's not insensitive apparently by LA Times logic. Seeing is believing. What a bunch of loser hypocrites.

In this shifty resolution calling for a “Nuclear Free” Middle East, the practical affect is to disarm the only country in the Middle East that is presumed to possess a nuclear deterrent, namely, Israel, in exchange for Iranian “promises.” It will not stand.

Next Hollywood Film: 'The Last Temptation of Mohammed'?

So devout Muslims consider any image of Mohammed to be “blasphemy.” The Neocon considers anything coming out of Ted Kennedy’s mouth Blasphemy, but I don’t call for a riot every time Ted Kennedy opens his pie-hole. But one thing that this whole Danish Cartoon episode exposed is the cowardice of Hollywood.

Explanation?:

Now I'm not a Christian nor a particularly religious person, but it seems to me that Hollywood has been busy making movies offensive to Christians about Jesus since the 1960’s. When can we expect the controversial Hollywood Movie depicting Mohammed in an unflattering light? Of course, everyone in Hollywood knows that making an unflattering flick about Jesus requires no real courage at all. Worst case scenario? Pat Robertson might place a curse on the film on the 700 club which will only generate more interest. On the other-hand, as this Danish Cartoon issue has exposed, make any image of Mohammed and expect a Jihad Fatwa on your head and riots from Morocco to Indonesia, oh yeah… in Paris too.

So the Neocon, during this Oscar season with the Danish cartoon thing hanging over our heads, wonders when Hollywood will take a temporary rest from its “courageous” celebration of gay cowboys, confused transvestites, desperate housewives, and all the other PC non-sense, and tackle a subject-matter that requires real courage; 'The Last Temptation of Mohammed.'

Danish Mohammed Cartoon Conflict Explodes - Jordanian Editor Risks His Life!

The Neocon congratulates the Jordanian Independent Newspaper Al-Shihan that ran a number of the Danish cartoons today. Editor Jihad Momani (an ironic name), at great risk to his own life, attached the following editorial to the cartoon: “Muslims of the world be reasonable…what brings more prejudice against Islam, these caricatures or pictures of a [Muslim] hostage-taker slashing the throat of his victim in front of cameras or a suicide bomber who blows himself up during a wedding ceremony in Amman?" It is the view of the Neocon that Mr. Momani deserves a medal of honor for taking this action. Undoubtedly, the risk he took by uttering such truth in his newspaper endangers his life in a real way. European's should stand up, take Mr. Momani as an example of courage, and defend freedom in the face of this intimidation. He has earned the highest respect from the Neocon.

What are they rioting about in the Muslim world now? A Cartoon!!! Yep, Mohammad was depicted in unflattering ways (last September!) so now suddenly we have anti-Danish riots across the Muslim world, because you know how wacky those Danes can be. Imagine a riot in the US every time Jesus was portrayed in unflattering ways, or a riot every time the LA Times ran a Conrad cartoon depicting the Star of David with a Swastika. It would be rioting non-stop in this country. But where have the PC crowed directed their hostility? You guessed it, not towards the rioting hordes, but towards the newspaper! In a show of solidarity and defense of freedom of speech, the Neocon encourages all newspapers from every corner of the free world, as a matter of principle, to run the cartoons in defense of the embattled Danes.

President Finally Declares: Radical Islam is the Enemy

In his speech last night, the President moved a few pieces on the chess board in this ongoing global struggle, but the Neocon believes that the media completely missed one of the most interesting and important elements of the Presidents speech:
For the first time (that I can recollect at least) in such a high-profile venue, the President did not over-engage in euphemisms about who the enemy in this global struggle actually is. Like Lincoln’s initial hesitancy to declare slavery the real issue during the early stages of the Civil war, our President usually dances around the issue of Radical Islam with expressions like “our war on terror” or our “fight against those who oppose freedom” etc…etc…
Last Night however, the President clearly, openly and loudly referred to RADICAL ISLAM as the real enemy in this war and a real threat to the West’s existence if we fail to engage.
The Neocon congratulates the President for finally, openly, and clearly declaring what everyone already knows. Hopefully, this new level of clarity will begin to catch on with the main stream media; and with any luck, the term “war on terror” will fade, and the real war against RADICAL ISLAM can finally begin. We can’t win a war if the enemy is never clearly identified.
