In one of the greatest maritime disasters since the Titanic, an Egyptian ship at sea carrying an estimated 1,400 people sinks. The closest formidable navy offers immediate rescue assistance. Time is of the essence. Egypt declines the assistance. The picture of Jews rescuing Muslim Pilgrims from Mecca is apparently far too much of a burden for Egypt to bear. And the 1,400 people? Well, that's another matter...
UPDATE: Egypt now rejects US and British rescue aid as well.
