ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Wednesday approved a draft bill seeking amendments to the country’s family laws with a view to enabling "women" who are married as minors to settle long-running family feuds to obtain divorce upon reaching puberty. the draft bill sought to provide relief to "women" who were married by their parents or guardians against their will. The draft bill provides for no punitive action against those who married the pre-pubescent girls.
Why does that remind me of the Borat line: "My country make great progress, women can now ride on inside of bus, homosexuals no longer must ware blue hat, and age of consent has been raise to eight." In Pakistan they would truely wonder why Westerners find Borat so funny.

Jimmy Carter: Worst US President in History, With an Uncontrollable addiction to the Smell of Murdering Dictators
What can one say about ex-President Jimmy Carter, a national joke, an embarassment who seems to love the smell of dictators and will exercise every opportunity to cuddle with tyrants and killers: voted out of office in disgrace and widely viewed as the worst president in the history of the United States. Let us recall shall we… when Carter left office: double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, a depressed stock market and an economy in shambles, hostages in Iran, lines at gas stations, a depressed and under-equipped military, with the Communist bloc on the march around the world and Russian troops in Afghanistan, etc…etc… In his own words, "a national malaise" which he himself was responsible for. I have no idea how this man has no shame to present himself as an elder statesman.

Killer Video from the Harritage Foundation: WAKE UP CALL TO THE WESTERN WORLD
Reader Comment:
James Earl Carter is clearly the worst president in the past 100 years. He failed in virtually every aspect of leadership. Yet this man is so in love with himself, that he stands up today and offers his leadership, advice and criticism. He is as wrong today as he was as president. Let me review his legacy. He foolishly allowed the Shah to fall in Iran and let the radical Khommeni return. His return was the first act in Islam's long war versus the West. Iran, an imperfect ally was lost. What emerged from Khommeni's mass murdering swamp is today's greatest threat to the West. Hundreds of Westerners have been murdered by Iran's hand. More than 230 US Marines were murdered by Hezbollah, Iran's proxy. When the Iranians committed an act of war by taking the US embassy, Carter responded meakly with a letter telling Khommeni that as religous men, he believed they could work things out. Even Khommeni himself was surprise by the US response. Such weakness emboldened this enemy. Finally, his incompetence peaked with the failed US rescue mission in April 1980. Carter HIMSELF was personally in radio contact with mission commander, Col. Charles Beckwith. Beckwith had to get Carter's okay to scrub the mission. There exists no better example of micro-management, incompetence and sorry leadership than this. Eight US soldiers lost their lives during the exit out of Iran. Iranians publiclly desecrated the burned bodies. Carter responded to the Soviet invasion into Afghanistan by having the US Olympic team boycott the 1980 games in Moscow. This further reinforced to our enemies, that the US was weak and would not stand up to aggression. Finnaly, US voters had enough and tossed Carter out in one of the biggest landslides in history. He allowed Reagan to permanently plant conservatives into a driving political force. Come to think about it, strike every criticism I have for Carter: Thank you Jimmy!

Neocon Op-Ed of the day, by Dennis Prager: America, Not Keith Ellison, Decides What Book a Congressman Takes His Oath On
Dennis Prager earns the Neocon op-ed of the day with this powerful piece explaining why Muslim Congressman-elect Keith Ellison should not be allowed to take the oath of office with his hand on the Koran instead of the Bible. Before reading this piece, I had difficulty caring one way or the other which book Ellison placed his hand on. Prager explains with sharp clarity why we should care and he has persuaded me, perhaps he will persuade you as well. A few samples below:
Devotees of multiculturalism and political correctness who do not see how damaging to the fabric of American civilization it is to allow Ellison to choose his own book need only imagine a racist elected to Congress. Would they allow him to choose Hitler's "Mein Kampf," the Nazis' bible, for his oath? And if not, why not? On what grounds will those defending Ellison's right to choose his favorite book deny that same right to a racist who is elected to public office?
Of course, Ellison's defenders argue that Ellison is merely being honest; since he believes in the Koran and not in the Bible, he should be allowed, even encouraged, to put his hand on the book he believes in. But for all of American history, Jews elected to public office have taken their oath on the Bible, even though they do not believe in the New Testament, and the many secular elected officials have not believed in the Old Testament either. Yet those secular officials did not demand to take their oaths of office on, say, the collected works of Voltaire or on a volume of New York Times editorials, writings far more significant to some liberal members of Congress than the Bible. Nor has one Mormon official demanded to put his hand on the Book of Mormon. And it is hard to imagine a scientologist being allowed to take his oath of office on a copy of "Dianetics" by L. Ron Hubbard.
When all elected officials take their oaths of office with their hands on the very same book, they all affirm that some unifying value system underlies American civilization. If Keith Ellison is allowed to change that, he will be doing more damage to the unity of America and to the value system that has formed this country than the terrorists of 9-11. It is hard to believe that this is the legacy most Muslim Americans want to bequeath to America. But if it is, it is not only Europe that is in trouble.

State Department to Saudi: it’s tough being a slave owner in 21st Century America, we hope you understand, please forgive us...
The case of Homaidan Al-Turki is a graphic case of Borat-gone-bad. It is certainly a prime example of the clash of Muslim vs. Western values. Al-Turki hails from a prominent and wealthy Saudi family who moved with is wife and kids to Colorado for his PhD studies. He also brought his very own female housekeeper/sex slave; not an unusual arrangement in his culture but utterly illegal in the US. When found out, Al-Turki stood trial, was convicted and sentenced 20 years to life in prison. The case is creating shockwaves in Saudi Arabia where folks are having trouble understanding what the man did wrong and are stunned that a lowly woman would be able to testify against a prominent male. The situation has become so high-profile that the US State Department felt the need to send Colorado Attorney General John Suthers to Saudi Arabia where he met with no less than King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan to clear up "misperceptions" about the U.S. judicial system. Hello? Is there anybody home? Is it just me?

Ralph Peters: "Europe's Muslims Will be Lucky Just to be Deported"
Respected military historian Ralph Peters delivers a truly stunning op-ed today in the New York Post. Peters casually dismisses as “pop prophets” predictions from many observers like Mark Steyn (another one of our favorite writers) who argues that demographic trends will doom Europe to a future that has been widely termed “Eurabia.” Peters then goes on to do a little prophesizing of his own by becoming the first historian that I am aware of to predict the future expulsion or even genocide of Europe’s Muslim populations well before “Eurabia” becomes a reality. This jaw-dropping op-ed will undoubtedly reverberate in intellectual circles. A few quotes below followed by a further comment from me:The notion that continental Europeans, who are world-champion haters, will let the impoverished Muslim immigrants they confine to ghettos take over their societies and extend the caliphate from the Amalfi Coast to Amsterdam has it exactly wrong. The endangered species isn't the "peace loving" European lolling in his or her welfare state, but the continent's Muslims immigrants - and their multi-generation descendents - who were foolish enough to imagine that Europeans would share their toys. In fact, Muslims are hardly welcome to pick up the trash on Europe's playgrounds.
Ralph Peters
THE historical patterns are clear: When Europeans feel sufficiently threatened - even when the threat's concocted nonsense - they don't just react, they over-react with stunning ferocity. One of their more-humane (and frequently employed) techniques has been ethnic cleansing. And Europeans won't even need to re-write "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" with an Islamist theme - real Muslims zealots provide Europe's bigots with all the propaganda they need. Al Qaeda and its wannabe fans are the worst thing that could have happened to Europe's Muslims. Europe hasn't broken free of its historical addictions - we're going to see Europe's history reprised on meth. Sound impossible? Have the Europeans become too soft for that sort of thing? Has narcotic socialism destroyed their ability to hate? Is their atheism a prelude to total surrender to faith-intoxicated Muslim jihadis? The answer to all of the above questions is a booming "No!" I have no difficulty imagining a scenario in which U.S. Navy ships are at anchor and U.S. Marines have gone ashore at Brest, Bremerhaven or Bari to guarantee the safe evacuation of Europe's Muslims.
What I find particularly interesting is that nowhere in Peters’ article does he take issue with the actual substance of the demographic arguments by Steyn and others. By failing to deal head on with the demographic issue Peters essentially concedes that point, but seems to argue that demographics are irrelevant anyway because history tells us that the oh so “hateful” Europeans will rise up and deport (or worse), the Muslim populations of Europe before that issue reaches critical mass. I’m not sure if he meant to make that case, but according to Peters’ own logic, either Muslims are deported from Europe in Mass, or we face a future with a Muslim majority in Europe with all that that implies. Is there any other way to read it?

What Can I Do to Make Your Flight More Uncomfortable?
"Six imams removed from a US Airways flight from Minneapolis to Phoenix are calling on Muslims to boycott the airline. If only we could get Muslims to boycott all airlines, we could dispense with airport security altogether. Witnesses said the imams stood to do their evening prayers in the terminal before boarding, chanting "Allah, Allah, Allah" – coincidentally, the last words heard by hundreds of airline passengers on 9/11 before they died... The idea that a Muslim boycott against US Airways would hurt the airline proves that Arabs are utterly tone-deaf. This is roughly the equivalent of Cindy Sheehan taking a vow of silence. How can we hope to deal with people with no sense of irony? The next thing you know, New York City cab drivers will be threatening to bathe. Come to think of it, the whole affair may have been a madcap advertising scheme cooked up by US Airways. It worked with me. US Airways is my official airline now. Northwest, which eventually flew the Allah-spouting Muslims to their destinations, is off my list. You want to really hurt a U.S. air carrier's business? Have Muslims announce that it's their favorite airline."

Syria-Iran-Hezbollah Assassinate another Proponent of Lebanese Democracy
The assassination today of Lebanese Christian Minister Pierre Gemayel, is yet another example of the enemy we face. The axis of Syria, Iran and Hezbollah, fully intend to control all of Lebanon and have nothing but contempt for the democratic process and the forces of enlightenment in that country, the leaders of which are being assassinated one by one. Lebanon is salvageable only if the forces of enlightenment organize, rise up and confront the Hezbollah cancer in their midst. If they fail to do so, they can all expect to live under an Iranian-style Islamic theocracy in a state of permanent conflict and terror.

In the Battle Between Sunni Vs. Shiite - May Both Sides Win
The good news here is that it seems that Al-Qaeda Sunni whacko’s are deeply concerned that Shiite Iranian-backed whacko’s are coming to dominate the Islamo-Jihad movement. There is nothing like a good old knock-down drag-out hate-fest between crazies. This is a trend that should be encouraged.
Victor Davis Hanson: The West at A Crossroads
"Americans in their televised wrangling seem traumatized over Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib, the Patriot Act, and wiretaps. For many George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld are far greater threats than Osama bin Laden. Indeed, without a care for the thousands tortured by Saddam or dismembered by the terrorists, American leftists now seek to indict (in Germany of all places!) the former Secretary of Defense on charges such as subjecting detainees to "religious humiliation." Religious humiliation? Is war now to be played out on Court TV or ape the hurt feelings of Sunday morning television?
In short, while the Islamists get bolder and crazier, we become more timid and all too rational, quibbling over this terrorist's affinities and that militia's particular grievances--in hopes of cutting some magical deal with an imaginary moderate imam or nonexistent reasonable militia chief or Middle East dictator.
Well beyond us now is any overarching Churchillian vision of our enemies. We lack the practical understanding of an FDR that all of these Islamists loathe us far more than they despise each other. Their infighting, after all, is like the transitory bickering of thieves over the division of loot that always pales before their shared hatred of the targeted bank owner.
So we are at a crossroads of all places in Iraq. The war there has metamorphosized from a successful effort to remove a mass-murdering dictator into the frontlines of the entire struggle between Islamic radicalism and Western liberality. If we withdraw before the elected government stabilizes, the consequences won't just be the loss of the perceptions of power, but perhaps the loss of real power. What follows won't be the impression that we are weak, but the fact that we are--as we convince ourselves we cannot win against such horrific enemies, and so should never again try."

Rangel: We Need to Bring Back The Draft. The Neocon: Bring on the Debate
Obviously there are positives and negatives with regard to reconstituting the military draft in the United States. I personally don’t believe that the idea should be completely pooh-poohed just because it is being brought up by liberal Democrat Charlie Rangel of New York. Indeed, this might be a good time to initiate a public debate over the draft. It is really difficult for an average person to take this war seriously if our public officials, or the general public for that matter, don’t believe that the threat we face is substantial enough to take the basic step of initiating a draft, or even debate the idea. Many conservatives (myself included) often compare the threats of our time to the 1930’s and the rise of Hitler in Germany. If we truly believe that to be the case, and not just excited rhetoric, than why is Rep. Rangel’s advocacy of a draft considered so marginal by so many conservatives who otherwise spend much time highlighting the growing threat at hand. So the Neocon congratulate Rep. Rangel for initiating this discussion, let’s see where it leads. (Image from Stubborn Facts)

"Each one contained enough poison to kill the entire membership of the court."

Salman Rushdie: The Will to Win
He lives on the political left and we have our disagreements with him, but in this extraordinary exchange published at FrontPage Magazine, author Salmon Rushdie (who also lives with a fatwa on his head) delivers a powerful argument for eternal vigilance against the creeping encroachment of Islamist coercion. While rightly opposing discrimination against the individual, he eloquently defends the right, perhap even indeed the obligation of every freedom loving person to be “Islamophobic.” He describes “Islamophobia” as a legitimate and necessary fear of Islam not as a religion but as an ideology in the political sense (if such a seperation is possible), which radicals are seeking to impose on others through force and the spread of fear. Indeed “political Islam” should be feared and resisted wherever possible. It is a long, but an absolute must read. A Few Samples:
"...I think, you know, Islamophobia is also a victimless crime because it must be in any free society OK to be as open as you want to be about your dislike of a set of ideas. I mean otherwise it becomes impossible to think. It becomes impossible to have any kind of interchange of thought in a society if you’re told that there are ideas which are off-limits. If you take that further into discrimination against or prejudice towards individuals, that’s another matter. You obviously need to protect individuals against prejudice but you can’t ring fence their ideas, and that’s what seems to me why terms like that, you’re not allowed to say “Islamofascist” either because, of course, no Muslims are fascists, as we know.
I suppose one has to mention the Danish cartoons. I ran into a young journalist at a party in New York working for a small New York magazine who said that he’d been obliged to quit his job because his proprietor refused to publish the cartoons because he was worried about his offices getting bombed. And this kind of cravenness was worldwide. And the name that the cravenness was given was respect. When people said that they didn’t publish them out of respect for Muslims, what they meant is they didn’t publish them because they were afraid of their offices getting bombed.
And when you create that kind of a climate of fear, when you concede, you give in to that kind of intimidation, you don’t as a result have less intimidation. I mean as a result you have more intimidation."

Another Inconvenient Truth: “Global Warming” is a Religion
When one chooses to live in denial of real threats, such as radical Imams with nuclear bombs, what better way to avoid dealing with the real world than to imagine a “threat” of imminent disaster which, conveniently, no-one can prove or disprove. “Global Warming” is the ideal enemy for the liberal mind; it’s a battle against wind mills in the sky in which nobody gets killed and bravery and sacrifice are only required in the most theoretical and abstract sense. The enemy is of course…the most hated (and most obsessed over) person in the liberal universe…the self. “The self” naturally includes our car in the driveway, evil large corporations, big oil, Republicans and the post-industrial, capitalist West in general who are, of course, the cause of this imminent disaster which can only be averted by quickly adapting favorite liberal policies. Global Warming also conveniently involves a collective threat to all of humanity, and what better way to divert humanity away from these petty regional and sectarian conflicts amongst ourselves, than to rally against a mutual and much larger outside threat, like the aliens from outer space in Independence Day... or….Global Warming.

Iranian Paper: "Great war to wipe out Israel coming"
Of course, such opinions in newspapers in Iran are not mere "independent views" of out-of-control editors, but are very likely the official views of the regime. They do not even attemp to hide their intentions and this is simply the latest in a long series of such pronouncments coming out of Teheran. It is interesting to observe the excited statments of how "half of Israel was destroyed" during the recent Lebanon flare-up. It truly is scary to think that such a regime with such a delusional and overly-excited posture, mixed with a fanatical religious, Islamo-fascist zeal and expansionist ambitions will soon be in possession of a nuclear arsenal. And yet, the world slumbers as the storm-clouds gather. If there ever was a case for "pre-emptive" action, this would be it.

Iran: Full Nuclear Program Operating by February
Unless anything changes in the next two months, the historic record will show that the world, and in particular President George Bush who is the one person in a position to do something about it, stood by and did nothing as Iran proceeded to develop a nuclear weapons arsenal. At this stage, Iran does not even attempt to hide their intentions while openly and proudly annoucing their race to full nuclear status. All this as President Bush talks about "sanctions" and "isolation" and "international pressure" and all of the other non-sense.

While the US Administration repeatedly asserts in public that it will not tolerate a Nuclear Iran, apperently Iran is hearing something entierly differnt; today Iran publicly announced that the US has indeed “agreed to live with a nuclear Iran.” Just as I believe Iranian President Ahmadinejad when he publicly declares that it is his intention to destroy Israel, I also believe him when he declares that the West has agreed to “live with a nuclear Iran.” President Bush said Monday there was no change in his position, but Ahmadinejad declared that Iran will "hold the big celebration of Iran's full nuclearization in the current year," (Iran's current calendar year ends on March 20). Even NYT Lefty Foreign Policy "Guru" Thomas Friedman Agrees that Radical Islam More Dangerous Than Cold War Commies
Friedman tends to be a little full of himself for my taste in addition to the fact that I tend to disagree with about 50% of the time on Middle East issues. But this week the lefty guru got a few things right, saying that the forces of “bin Ladenism,” or Muslim extremism, pose a greater threat to U.S. interests than Cold War communism, Thomas Friedman added that Islamic radicals are more dangerous because the Soviet Union was “deterrable” while Islamists are largely “undeterrable.” This is the case, because Soviet leaders loved life more than death, while Islamic fundamentalists are ready to kill themselves at the drop of a hat, he said.
In a deeply pessimistic assessment of undercurrents in the contemporary Arab world, Friedman talked about the population explosion, the high youth unemployment rate, the economic stagnancy, the widespread illiteracy, the lack of freedom and the yawning gap between Islam’s exalted view of itself and the backwardness of the region. Friedman said that radical Islamic preachers and rabble-rousers exploit the pent-up anger and humiliation caused by this sorry state of affairs.
The Sept. 11 hijackers – the “people of mass destruction” – emerged precisely from this milieu, he noted. Friedman said that the Arab-Muslim world is in a dysfunctional state today, and that the United States has a profound interest in trying to improve conditions there.

Borat Review
I just returned from seeing ‘Borat: Cultural Leanings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.’ Before seeing the film I read a few reviews on some “conservative leaning” web sites in which it was described as “anti-American” because there were a number of mocking scenes that portrayed Americans in a less than flattering light. I strongly disagree and having now seen the film understand that such criticism is more of a bizarre reflection on the hypersensitivity of some of my fellow “conservative” bloggers, than on the film itself. Clearly some folk lack a political sense of humor.
I thought that by-in-large, Americans came across as a good and decent people, certainly in comparison to Borat himself. Yes there were a number of disturbing examples, like the drunken collage kids putting down minorities, but at the same time they treated Borat, himself a “foreigner and minority with a heavy accent,” with nothing but friendship and hospitality. But many others, such as the driving instructor and the Birmingham family that hosted Borat for dinner, came across as overly accepting and tolerant in the face of Borat’s outrageous behavior. I also found it interesting that Borat spoke in Hebrew throughout the entire film when he was pretending to communicate in his native Kazak language. This was likely lost on the audience.
As for the film itself: It was difficult to watch and you should avoid it if you are easily offended, I did notice a few people leaving the theater in the middle; most of the time I truly did not know if I should bury my head while squirming in embarrassment, or burst out in uncontrollable laughter. I did a lot of both. Although he will never receive it, Sacha Baron Cohen should be up for a Best Actor Oscar for this one. The overwhelming majority of the movie was filmed in “real life” situations, where only one-take would have been possible; it is simply stunning how he was able to stay in the Borat character even in the most humiliating and difficult circumstances. I contend that there is not a single other actor in Hollywood who would have been able to pull off the Borat character or anything comparable.
(In the photo above: Borat is covering the "running of the Jews" in his navtive village for Kazak TV).

The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life. -- Teddy Roosevelt

Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite (R-FL) Smacks Down the Local CAIR Director
In a truely remarkeble "Dear Ahmed" letter, Florida Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite basically told the Executive Director of CAIR in Tampa to shove his complaints where the sun-don't-shine. This letter is truely worth the read and should be circulated all over the net. Brown-Waite has just made my heros list.

Pope Benedict Urges Catholics to "Manifest Their Beliefs With the Same Conviction as Muslims"
Pope Benedict said today that Catholics should manifest their beliefs with the same conviction as Muslims, who "are attached with great seriousness to their convictions and their religious rites." Urges Humble but "firm" dialogue with Muslims.
OK, so I'm not a Catholic, but in the spirit of the Pope's words, here is some "firm dialogue":
Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a religion of submission. When you submit, then there is peace. Islam is not a religion of reason. It is a religion of submission. You must not question. Islam is not a relgion of love. It is a religion of power. And, it is this power to which you must submit. That is the logic of Islam; no logic.

"We Will Never Rest Until We Have Reached Jerusalem and Destroy the White House"
Al Qaeda in Iraq's purported leader, Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, vowed on Friday that his fighters would never rest until they have reached Jerusalem and destroy the White House. Of course, touchy-feely lefty types think this is just Hyperbole, not to be taken literally or seriously.

The likely new chairman of the House Judiciary Committee is in the pocket of Islamists. Democrat John Conyers who runs an Arabic version of his official Web site represents Dearborn, Mich., nicknamed “Dearbornistan.” Conyers has vowed to criminalize FBI and Customs Service profiling of Muslim terror suspects.

Cries of "Allah Akbar!!!" at victory Celebration of New Muslim-Democrat Congressman
As American troops battle radical Islam around the world: New Muslim Democrat Congressman Keith Ellison celebrated victory with cries of "Allah Akbar" from his supporters and word is that he will be swearing in with his hand on the Koran, a first in US history. Also, notice the green color of his campaign signs. Unusual color for a US political campaign sign, but the favorite color of Islamo-fascists such as Hezbollah and Hamas, coincidence? You make the call.
