Israel's Natural Gas Find Bigger Than Expected

Noble Energy announced that the natural gas find off the coast of Israel is about 30% larger than expected; enough to supply all of Israel's gas needs for about 20 years. Noble CEO Charles Davidson also estimates that the probability of finding additional large natural gas reserves off of the Israeli coast has increased exponentially. Full-scale development has been approved and funded, and the gas should begin to flow by 2012. It is hard to understate how this changes Israel's strategic situation for the better. I wonder if the Obama administration will call the gas platforms "Jewish settlements".
