Hmmm, it seems the Iranian people haven't gotten the memo about 'hope and change'. It appears to be a landslide, probably fraudulent. Maybe one more Obama Islam-apology speech and tad more touchy-feely negotiations will do the trick?
UPDATE: Obama says he is excited about Iran's "robust election" debate. Good lord.
UPDATE: Riots break out across Tehran.
UPDATE: Opposition leader Mousavi arrested in Iran.
UPDATE: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, meanwhile, said Saturday the U.S. hopes the outcome of the election reflects the genuine will and desire of the Iranian people. "We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds in Iran, but we, like the rest of the world, are waiting and watching to see what the Iranian people decide." Is it possible to issues a weaker statement?
Meanwhile, standing right next to Hillary at a new conference, Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon said his country was deeply concerned by reports of irregularities in the election. "We're troubled by reports of intimidation of opposition candidates' offices by security forces," Cannon said. Canada is calling on Iranian authorities to conduct fair and transparent counting of all ballots.
At least we can depend on Canada to issue a firm statement, while the US President and the US Secretary of State come across as the leaders of Greenland or something, certainly not as leaders of the free world.
UPDATE: North Korea: "Obama who?" We intend to fully weaponize our plutonium.
