IAEA: Iran Now Has Enough Material for Nuclear Bomb - Israeli Air Force "Ready to Strike"

As I have mentioned repeatedly, if Obama is elected, he cannot be trusted to confront the Iranian nuclear threat. The most optimal time for a strike on Iran's nuclear facility is between November 4th and January 20th, the day Obama takes over. We are now in that time-frame. If something does happen, it will happen suddenly and without warning. After that, all hell may break loose.

There are two developments today that indicate that something big is about to happen:

• The UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced today that Iran has now produced some 630 kilograms of low-enriched uranium suitable for nuclear fuel. That milestone is enough to produce a single nuclear weapon, about the size of the bomb dropped by the US on Nagasaki.
• The Commander of Israel's Air Force publicly stated today that the IAF is fully prepared, right now, to eliminate the Iranian nuclear program... and that the decision at this point is strictly political, not technical or logistic.

Of course, Obama will be only too happy if this matter is dealt with before he enters office. One more major headache taken off the table, even though the aftermath will certainly be complicated. As far is President Bush is concerned, he certainly doesn't want to go down as the President who stood by and did nothing as the radical regime in Iran became a nuclear power. His long-term legacy is more important to him than today's approval ratings. All of these elements combine to raise the likelihood of action to 'high.' Of course, complacency is also a possibility and in many ways the easy way out. But is it a probability? I lean towards predicting action sometime before January 20th... although I have been wrong on predictions before and could be wrong this time as well.
