Clearly Obama doesn't understand or has never been to the real Israel, otherwise he would have burst out laughing at his own campaigns memo directing female reporters accompanying him to Israel:
“Do not wear nail polish.”
“Women should only wear a limited amount of jewelry.”
“Shoulders and arms must be fully covered (no strapless tops, no tank tops, no short sleeve shirts.)"
“Do not wear green.” (Explained later as the color of Hamas)
“Closed-toe shoes, women should also wear stockings.”

Anyone who has ever been to Israel knows that, particularly in summer, most Israeli women dress in shorts, tank-tops, sandals, bikini's... anything but "modesty" to beat the heat. Obama must have been thinking about his friends in Iran or the Palestinian Authority:

ReplyDeleteI'm not an Obama fan, but he's right about this one. How citizens dress is their own affair, but if you visit Jerusalem, your going to find a lot more religious people who will appreciate the appropriate attire among Jews, Christians and Muslims. A lot of girls wear whatever they want, but a lot of other people also find it offensive. I personally couldn't care less, but it is the political thing to do.
