First, The Marine in question was uninjured. I remember the biggest thing I used to bitch about in the Military was the requirement to ware a helmet. To this day I think I'm losing hair because of it. The incident in question was probably a reaction to a surprise attack. The Marine probably had no time to put on a helmet or flack jacket.
