My VP Predictions

I would say for the Dem VP its Sam Nunn or Jim Web… maybe on a long shot, Ed Rendell who can help in crucial Pennsylvania. Obama needs a traditional “white guy” with national security credentials. Nunn and Web may have that, plus some Southern appeal.

For the Republican’s I would go with Newt Gingrich (McCain at the top already has all of the “moderate” credentials that a GOP ticket might need). Gingrich is a Pitt Bull with a sharp tongue who fires up the base and delivers the South. He also brings pizzazz and intellectual firepower. He also brings a bit of good-old Newt controversy and unpredictability, for the good and the bad (on balance for the good). He is widely known and will not need to be introduced to voters. Otherwise, the safe bet is Charlie Crist of Florida. Leiberman is a possible long-shot should the GOP decide to gamble completely for the middle and take the base for granted, which may or may not work.
