My Congratulations to NASA Astronaut Garrett Reisman

A few years ago, I sat next to Dr. Reisman on a long flight from New York to Paris and we chatted the entire flight. Reisman was on his way to Moscow for continued training with his Russian counterparts, and I was on my way to Bucharest, Romania for a business conference. I can only say that NASA truly do select "the right stuff" if Dr. Reisman is any indication. A man of incredible personal achievement and high intelligence (as is his wife apparently)... and yet so nice and "normal" and not full of himself. I remember coming home after that long trip and telling my young son that I had the opportunity to have a NASA Astronaut as my captive audience for about 8 hours, and he was impressed indeed.

Anyway, when I met him he had not yet been to space but he had completed a stint in an undersea station to earn his "Aquanaut" credentials. Recently I learned that Dr. Reisman has been manning the International Space Station for the past few months and is scheduled to return to Earth in June. All the Best to Dr. Garrett Reisman, you make us proud!
Joe
