Las Vegas Tower: Tallest Building in the Western Hemisphere Planned for Las Vegas

Move over New York City, Las Vegas is preparing the way for the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere to be located on the Las Vegas strip just north of the Riviera Hotel. Australia's richest man, James Packer, plans on partnering with Texas-based developer Christopher Milam. This combination suddenly turns what seemed like a stretch, into a probability. A few hurdles are still pending, not the least of which is FAA approval because the size of the new tower may be deemed to interfere with air traffic; it will dwarf the Stratosphere Tower, currently the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River.
