Osama's Error: The Enemies of Freedom Cannot Win

Please notice that the children from different backgrounds above are not wearing combat fatigues, carrying guns or holding up signs about what they (or more accurately their parents) hate. It’s all about love. When we see these types of images coming out of the Arab world, we will know that progress is being made. Unfortunatly, what we usually see out of the Arab world is more often the type of image seen below. One can judge a lot about a society by what it teaches its children. Saddly, one can also make predictions about the future direction of a society by what it teaches its children.

Of course I will help you with your belt son. Isn't that what all good mothers do?

  1. You know, the MSM and Moonbat parade are willfully ignorant of the wrath that "pure" Islam is spreading across the globe. They refuse to see. I hear conservative leaders say that another attack is what is needed to embolden the American public. I unfortunately disagree. 9/11 was and is an immense tragedy. Something that goes beyond the very worst nightmares any American had on 9/10/01. Pain. Suffering. Rage.

The War on Terror had begun. But America's habits of watching football, reading magazines, and anything other than being engaged as a citizen quickly took back over. We lost focus as a nation. This problem of non-participation by John and Jane Q. Public is the very reason another attack would only galvanize the public a little while longer. Meanwhile, the Islamic "purists" keep planning, waiting, and acting. Over and Over.

The MSM is part of American thought. I wish I could have faith in America as a country to endure and fight. I CERTAINLY DO HAVE faith in our soldiers. But America is drifting slowly to the left. Even 9/11 has not redirected the nation as a whole. Unless there is a major change in the collective psyche, which is produced by what people focus on, which is predominately the MSM in all its forms, I cannot see a final victory.

We almost elected Gore. We almost elected Kerry. We are very close to electing Hillary. These politicians should not have a prayer if the public was awake and paying attention. But, we keep on keeping on.

We loose focus. The terrorists will never loose focus. Unless things change, I am afraid that when the vast majority of Americans wake up from the stupor they seem to be in, we will be in a very different world.

  2. Both sets of children live in two different worlds, and their parents do too. One set is very wealthy, and has the luxury of sheltering its children from the effects of what it's own global politics, military, economy, and ideology does around the world. We have the luxury of talking about love and laughter and asking our kids to carry such banners, because we are wealthy and sheltered and don't need to get our hands dirty. We can teach our kids to be blissfully ignorant. They don't need to know. On the other hand, Palestinian children (I assume they are?) live in the total opposite situation. Palestinian kids are living right in the thick of harsh realitys. Right in the warzone. Seeing the blood, seeing the rifles. We in western countries are not having the shit kicked out of us by Israel frequently. Both sides are influencing their children for their own purposes. America is telling it's children "everything is alright because we are wealthy and sheltered. You can talk of love, because we speak of love". Naturally, palestinian parents will be telling their kids a very different thing. We abhore it. We are shocked by the militant propaganda being drilled into their little minds. That is because we have the luxury of being well apart from the dust, tanks, and god knows what else. With 9/11, that changed. What was the first thing many citizens wanted to do when attacked by an outside force like Palestinians live with frequently? Our luxury of talking about love, went out the window. We wanted to kick ass, gung ho style. We wanted revenge. Some wanted to nuke the middle east. We wanted Bin Laden's head on a plate. Some desecrated Qurans. Some wanted to humiliate Muslims by having them undress in an Iraq jail and lie on top of each other for "trophy snaps". Where did all our love go? Our love was false.

Our love and carefree life was something that was an illusion which came from being wealthy and sheltered. That was what people like Bin Laden was tried to show us with the horrific 9/11 wake up call. We missed the point. Now we are going around doing what we claimed we were "above" on our supposed moral high ground. Bubba said that some conservative leaders are saying it seems America needs another attack to wake it up. To what? To the required hate? Right wingers want to kick Islamic ass, they feel they are being "realist" by saying - "Wake up, this is war". Where is our love? It looks as if we're telling our kids one thing (love) and doing the opposite (hatred of Islam, eagerness to militarily topple unliked regimes).

Are we not hypocrites? Many think we are since 9/11.

Palestinians have been awake for a long time. In our sheltered lives, we find their rhetoric unspeakable and unnescessary. "Barbaric and intolerant" we say. "How can there be so much hatred?" we ask. That changed for a few years after 9/11. Now some conservatives feel a new attack is needed to re-charge the hate needed to keep citizens baying for revenge and war. If another attack happens, an entirely new generation of western children will grow up as 'warriors of democracy'. Holy warriors for the cause. Although we've got some of our kids carrying "love" banners, it seems some folks are taking what they see as a "realist" approach. Look at president Bush speaking to a huge crowd at a 2005 jamboree of Boy Scouts.

After a wonderful speech about how wonderful the Boy Scouts movement is (which I agree with very much), he threw in - "You also understand that freedom must be defended, and I appreciate the Scouts' long tradition of supporting the men and women of the United States military. (Applause.) Your generation is growing up in an historic time, a time when freedom is on the march, and America is proud to lead the armies of liberation. (Applause.) I believe we're laying the foundations of peace for decades to come". Freedom on the march? Onward Christian/Jewish soldiers? Armies of liberation = Peace? I would like to think so, but the reality shows otherwise, and certainly isn't convincing Muslims worldwide.

Now, if that isn't influencing children into being future warriors, then I don't know what is. Nazis did exactly this in the 1930's with the several Boy Scout movements of Germany of the time. Nazis merged those organizations of Boy Scouts into a Hitler Youth movement, for their up and coming war on other nations. Little did those Boys know that all the adventure, comradery, patriotism, and mock fighting was preparing them to be cannon fodder for a political military agenda when they were old enough. Palestinian kids have been given the war cry by adults who also see themselves as "realist" because they don't have the luxury of ignoring what is right on their door step. It appears Right wingers want everyone to "wake up and smell the Iranian uranium", yet are pointing out how 'revealing' it is that our Kids carry love banners while palestinian kids are dressed in combat gear with guns. If we are at war, then we "are" at war. Let us not patronize, by talking of kids and love and judge palestinian parents while invading Islamic nations and very un-lovingly killing thousands as "collateral damage".

If we as adults feel good and superior having our kids carry love banners around, but allow billions of our tax money to be spent developing the most sophisticated military hardware around, turning a blind eye to the blatant war crimes that have been commited by Israel "defending" itself, and choosing to invade and topple regimes in other nations with vast loss of life, there is a very real possibility that one day our kids will turn around and say - "Daddy, it seems you're a hypocrite.".

  3. 1) "liberals tend to blame outside forces for evil. This emanates from the secular humanistic view of people as basically good -- and therefore human evil must come not from the bad choices and bad values of the evildoer, but from the unfortunate socioeconomic and other circumstances of the person's life."

    2) "as you go further left on the political spectrum, it becomes increasingly difficult to blame the "weak" for any atrocities they commit. The Left does not divide the world between good and evil nearly as much as it does between rich and poor, and between strong and weak. Israel is stronger and richer, so Palestinian terror is excused. White America is stronger and richer than black America, so black violence is excused. The West is stronger and richer than the Muslim world, so Muslim violence is explained accordingly."

3)"liberals tend to be afraid of the truly evil. That's why the liberal newspapers of America refused to publish the Danish cartoons, probably the most newsworthy cartoons ever drawn, but have never had any hesitance about showing cartoons and photos that mock Jewish and Christian symbols. Christians and Jews don't kill editors."
Denis Prager's words will respond for me.
