fighting back against death threats by Islamic extremists

Interesting idea: Pass a law criminalizing religious death threats, and allowing for civil damages for anyone who is threatened. Lets see how US Islamic organizations lobby (for or against) such legislation. That will be telling. Literally thousands of death threats are sent by Muslims every day to bloggers and others who are exercising their freedom of speech. It would be nice to be able to sue them for everything they are worth.
