Obama Voted 'Present' on Mortgage Reform

In each of the first two presidential debates, Barack Obama claimed that "Republican deregulation" is responsible for the financial crisis. Astonishingly, McCain let that fly and most viewers probably accepted this idea, especially because Republicans generally do favor deregulation; Except when it came to handing out sub-prime mortgages backed by the government to folks who are completely unqualified; that was championed by Democrats and Obama, and actively opposed by Republicans.... Just a minor detail that Obama left out.

As they say, a lie will travel three times around the world before the truth even gets out of bed in the morning... or something like that.
