Don't look now but it looks like McCain has found a spine and her name is S. Palin.Four weeks is more than enough time to turn this thing around if McCain doesn't torpedo his own campaign with illegal alien amnesty crap.
ReplyDeleteObama won the Presidential election because he is a better campaigner-more dynamic, energetic, says all the right things for his supporting base. He is not a better man than McCain, he just looks the part better than McCain. In America packaging and style and promotion and tinsel is what most people go after, not substance and gravitas.
ReplyDeleteA war in Iraq, a beat-up economy w/ a republican sitting President w/ such low approval ratings he was forced to stay away from McCain rather than supporting him, AND a poor campaign that did not get the message out to his base or young people, doomed McCain to a blow-out election loss.
I am a business owner, a conservative, and now I hope a neophyte politician who won the White House leads the country in the great way his blind supporters have been hoping for. They would do good to remember the words of a great President:
* You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich.
* You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong.
* You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift.
* You cannot lift the wage earner up, by pulling the wage payer down.
* You cannot further the brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred.
* You cannot build character and courage, by taking away men's
initiative and independence.
* You cannot help men permanently, by doing for them what they could
and should, do for themselves.
