Excellent metaphor. I read your comments over at neoneocon.com and had to check you out. It appears we have similar perspective and the ranks of the neocons are growing. This election really did it although I admit it didn't take very much prodding for me to jump from my left (former charter member of DSA) to where I'm at now. The left left me, not the other way around. If this is the new center I think it is a good one. Now we just have to get over the bad rap neoconservatism has gotten.

Neoconservatism ,Liberalism, Compassionate Conservatism, New deal...all failures,we need to get back to basics and the rule of law.No longer allow judges and politicians to believe The Constitution is a contract they can change at will with no fear of Americans fighting back.Our Constitution was meant to limit their power so what sense does it make to let them "interprete" it's meaning.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there are strident and unreasonable elements on the Left. Just as there are on the Right. To dismiss either POV on the basis of its rowdiest element would be a mistake; not to say, a failure of logic.
ReplyDeleteThe classification of ALL protesters as smelly rabble is classic conservative-think. Never mind what the issue is, look at who is expressing concern about it.
That's why, when we discover that nuclear ships in our harbour actually do pose a threat, the Right still don't get it. They recall that it was fellas with green hair and ear piercing who were making a fuss about it.
Seems like a limited way to view the world. Not to mention, dangerous. But do carry on.
