The organizers of an anti-Iran rally Monday rescinded their invitation to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin after Democrats protested that her presence would turn the event into a political rally, McCain campaign and Jewish community sources said. This is why the "organized" Jewish community is generally an embarrassment to itself. These are the same types of folks and organizations that stood silent during the Holocaust because it would have been politically incorrect and inconvenient to the Roosevelt administration. They should be ashamed of themselves. As a Jew, I would look to the likes of Palin to defend the Jewish people well before I would depend on wimpy American Jewish organizations.
The Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations created a political tempest by inviting Palin to speak without clearing her invitation with the head of their other religion, Senator Hillary Clinton.

SHAME!!
ReplyDeleteThe Jews should know better than to dabble in repression or persecution.
SHAME!
Azohenvey! (For those unfamiliar with Yiddish, it means: "What a pain!") What a bunch of idiots!
ReplyDeleteWhen, oh when will my fellow Jews learn who their friends are?!
I just want to scream.
Shame on them!
Eric.
The most vocal supporters Isreal has in the U.S. are Evangelical Christians that generally vote Republican, the group most scalded by Americas Jews are Evangelical Republicans.
ReplyDeleteAs an Evangelical Christian that has always puzzled me.Why do otherwise sane Jewish folk align themselves with Jimmy Carters party and atheists.
M. Wilcox
Well, Mr. Wilcox, here is where you got it wrong:
ReplyDeleteThose suicidal Jews who hate Evangelical Christians and vote for leftist Democrats are not sane.
It sickens me that my fellow Jews do recognize their true friends.
But as a Jew, I thank you for support for the homeland of my ancestors, the only true ally of the USA in the Middle East.
Eric.
M. Wilcox, you are right. I am a Jew and I want you to know that there are still some of us clear thinking enough to know who our friends are. We appreciate your support greatly, even if some of our brain-washed ivory tower syndrome suffering brethren are too naive at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI also want to voice my absolute disgust with the leadership of this rally. I am infuriated at the short-sightedness and disrespect to the only political party that acts as a true ally to Israel. I will NEVER give money to any American Jewish organization again. All donations are going straight to Israel from now on.
Mr. Wilcox is right to be bewildered by the strange, self-defeating attitudes of so many in the Jewish community. He should know however that many of us are working hard to change that old way of thinking.
ReplyDeleteIt is outrageous that Malcolm Hoenlein would allow himself to be pressured by big money left wing Jews. I am Jewish myself and don't understand how other Jews vote Democratic. Palin should go the rally anyway. It's a public event and she can't be banned. Once she arrives the crowd will demand she be heard. It will be a huge media coup for the Republicans. Let's hope they're smart enough to think of it.
