Atlas Shrugs dug it up and World Net Daily followed up. My initial instinct was to be skeptical, but this thing now looks rock solid:
Two Palestinian brothers (non-US citizens or Green Card holders) inside the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip are listed in US government election filings as having donated $29,521.54 to Sen. Barack Obama's campaign. The donations would violate election laws, including prohibitions on receiving donations from foreigners and guidelines against accepting more than $2,300 from one individual during a single election, Bob Biersack, a spokesman for the Federal Election Commission said in response to a query on this matter.
WND successfully contacted the folks in Gaza who gave the donations and confirmed that they are not US citizens or Green Card holders. They admitted to making the donations.
Notice how they use "GA" for the "State". One might think that the donations came from Georgia, right? However, there is no city call "Rafah" in Georgia, and there is no "972" zip code in Georgia. There is however a city in Gaza called Rapha, and 972 is the international telephone area code for Gaza. Busted.
A few quick questions:
Are folks in the Gaza Strip doing so well that throwing close to $30,000 to the Obama campaign is considered a good use of financial resources?
Why would folks in Hamas controlled Gaza feel such a strong affinity towards Barack Obama that they would funnel that kind of cash? And that's what we know; I can only imagine what we don't know.
Is Obama going to keep the cash?
How was it so easy for cash to flow from a terrorist controlled territory to the bank account of the Obama campaign? And is that how he intends to run the country?
