Incredible Columbia Operation to Free the Hostages, McCain Briefed in Advance on the Raid

It really doesn't get much better than this. This is the stuff of legends. Books will be written, movies will be made. Imagine spending six years in the jungle being held by left-wing thugs with no contact with family, friends or the outside world. You have been moved around repeatedly with no end in sight. Then one day, suddenly in a matter of seconds, without notice, your captors become the captured and you are turned to and told "you are free."

Interestingly, Senator John McCain was in Columbia and was briefed on the raid in advance by Columbia's President Alvaro Uribe. I can't imagine that President Uribe would have risked briefing Barack Obama in advance given the types of folks that are in his campaign. Some of whom are likely sympathetic to FARC.

I also find it interesting that the Columbian Military wore Che Guevera shirts to fool the terrorists into thinking they were with them; especially since A number of prominent Obama supporters like to sport the Che Guevera image. I also note that Obama's name came up in the files of the captured laptop of FARC's top Commander Raul Reyes who was kill in a Colombian military raid back in February. The file referred to a meeting he had with a number of unnamed "gringo's" who assured him that Obama will not support "Plan Colombia" nor will he sign the TLC (Colombian Free Trade agreement), and how Obama would be open to talks with FARC.

  2. Thank you French Neocon. On this day we also remember that US independence would not have been possible without the help of France.
