This is what Obama surrogate Wes Clark had to say about John McCain's qualifications today. You cannot make this stuff up: "In the matters of national security policy making, it's a matter of understanding risk. It's a matter of gauging your opponents and it's a matter of being held accountable. John McCain's never done any of that in his official positions. He has been a voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee and he has traveled all over the world, but he hasn't held executive responsibility. That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded — that wasn't a wartime squadron."
Of course, there was no mention of Obama's extensive experience. Lets review shall we:
"I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president. I know my experience as a company commander in Vietnam — that doesn't prepare you to be commander in chief in terms of dealing with the national strategic issues that are involved. It may give you a feeling for what the troops are going through in the process, but it doesn't give you the experience first hand of the national strategic issues."
Obama: a Lawyer/politician who never served his country for a single moment. An almost non-existent legislative record and one of the most partisan records in Washington for the short while he has been there. Has zero executive experience in the public or private sector. Has never owned or run a business, not even a lemonade stand. Primary qualification? A slick tongue.
John McCain: Commanded the largest naval squadron in the United States Armed Forces. A true hero who Spent five years as a prisoner of war under horrific circumstances, tortured and abused, but never betrayed his country. Served for decades on the Armed Services Committee of the US Senate with a long record of bi-partisanship and legislative achievement.
That Wes Clark (acting as an official Obama surrogate) would make the "experience" argument with a straight face is down-right delusional. Belittling McCain's record is an inexcusable insult and lie.

You do your cause no good by using deceit. You have gotten most everything wrong here.
ReplyDelete1. You left out the lead up to the remarks in question wherein Clark said that McBush was a hero and had rendered great service to his country.
2. You fail to relate that though the Mac commanded a squadron, he do so in peace time and not as a wartime command.
3. You fail to elicit that John McCain himself is on record as saying that military service is not a qualification for the presidency which makes Obama's and most of our prior presidents lack of it immaterial.
4. You neglect to report that Clark was asked the question in the first place and did not offer it on his own.
5. And last, you neglect to report that McCain has injected his POW status continuously every chance he gets as about his only claim to fame. He considers his status an entitlement, apparently.
This is what a neo-con is famous for. But unfortunately you poor deluded fools are stuck with the pic of your hero hugging in utter rapture his savior Dubya, this the man who so scurriously maligned him in 2000. Such a man who will turn on a dime to resurrect a chance to be president is nobody anybody can trust, and that picture is about all that anybody needs to see to realize what McBush brings to the party. Sorry but you lose.
1) So it's good to here that you agree with Clark that "McCain is a hero and had rendered great service to his country." First call him a hero then insult him...Oky-doky
ReplyDelete2)There is not distinctions between peace-time and war-time command. War can break out any time. In any event, no one of any credibility denies McCain's combat exerience
3) It is true military service is not a requirment to be qualified to be President. But it don't hurt.
4) This was not the firt time the Clark made such comments. He did exactly the same months ago without being prompted. Bob Sheifer asked him to elaborate on his previous comments.
5)McCain rearly mentions his POW status as a "qualification." He has served for decades on the Senate Armed Services Committee, has traveled the world and been involved in many decisions made at the highest levels of goverment for many years.
Obama on the other hand hasn't served this country for a single moment, has no real experience at anything. Please don't embarass yourself.
