Rasmussen Poll: McCain Trounces Both Obama and Hilliary

Usually at this stage of a Presidential election the Democrat will be leading in the polls, only to be passed in the closing weeks of the campaign by the Republican candidate. This year we already have a completely different dynamic. Seven months before the election and the Republican candidate has already opened a wide lead. Wasn't it just a few weeks ago when media conventional wisdom was that a Republican can't win this year?
