So far this year, Al Gore has won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy and now the Noble Peace Prize; no joke! At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if he also wins the Heisman trophy, the World Series, an Olympic gold medal for wind surfing and the Conney Island hotdog eating championship. One really has to do some serious intellectual gymnastics to find a way to tie "global warming" in with "peace," but hey, who am I to spoil the party with non-conformist reasoning? So now Gore joins Yasser Arafat, Jimmy Carter and Mohamed El Baradei as Noble "peace" winners. You couldn't make this stuff up. The Noble "Peace" prize can no longer be taken seriously by serious people.
ONE of the world's foremost meteorologists has called the theory that helped Al Gore share the Nobel Peace Prize "ridiculous" and the product of "people who don't understand how the atmosphere works".

I made precisely the same point in my post on the topic:
ReplyDeleteDamian Thompson at London's Daily Telegraph asks, "What has Al Gore done for world peace?":
"Climate change is a threat to the environment, not to "peace" and international order. The prize has gone to some sleazy recipients in the past, but at least you can make a case that their actions staved off bloodshed."
Nice posting!
Yes not like Kissinger, who ended the Vietnam war... by ending Vietnam (two years after propping up a facist dictatorship in Chile and the same year as when he supported THE ISLAMO FACIST Suharto.)
ReplyDeleteI certainly agree with anonymous that Henry Kissinger did not deserve a "peace" prize either.
