Well over 100,000 people rally in central Tel Aviv for Prime Minister Olmert's resignation. The man has a 3% approval ratting according to latest polls in Israel. Harshly criticized in a national report for his indecisive and confused conduct during last summers war with Hezbollah, Olmert now puts himself out as the one most qualified to implement the reforms called for in the report.

I meant to post this little reminder yesterday but didn't get around to it: Yesterday was the 44th anniversary of the Democratic attack on little school children in Birmingham Alabama, by then Democratic National Committeeman, Sheriff Eugene "Bull" Connor. At the time, it should be noted, Connor was a Democratic National Committeeman from Alabama. A member of the Ku Klux Klan, Connor had been a Democrat state legislator and a delegate to the 1948 Democratic National Convention. A year after attacking the African-American children, Connor was elected, as a Democrat, president of the Alabama State Public Service Commission.

Ref BBC news - "The prime minister's aides say he will not be moved by opinion polls or rallies, the BBC's Tim Franks reports from Tel Aviv.".
ReplyDeleteIf a Priminister isn't moved by opinion polls or rallies, then they have their head in the sand and don't deserve to still be in power. Looks like Olmert has been watching Tony Blair and his "denial", too much.
