John Edwards - Limousine liberal

I love it when people make it big in America! It's hypocrisy that rubs me the wrong way. Presidential candidate John Edwards, the champion of meaningless platitudes, who always talks about the "two Americas," one for the rich and one for the poor; the man who is second only to Al Gore in his concern for "global warming" is about to move into his new digs... The largest house in North America! Please notice how an entire forest had to be bulldozed to make way for the new pad. Where will Bambi live now? The heating bill alone will likely cause the melting of the great polar ice shelf. And the "no trespassing" signs don't seem very friendly. Maybe it's just me.

Mona Charen: "The key paragraph in President Bush's State of the Union speech was this: This is not the fight we entered in Iraq, but it is the fight we're in. Every one of us wishes this war were over and won. Yet it would not be like us to leave our promises unkept, our friends abandoned, and our own security at risk. Ladies and gentlemen: On this day, at this hour, it is still within our power to shape the outcome of this battle. Let us find our resolve, and turn events toward victory."

  1. Did it ever occur to you that you may be looking at farm fields?

"Farmers are absolutely on the brink of going out of business all over America. And it is a combination of -- I’ll use my state as a vehicle for talking about this -- the rural economy in places like North Carolina and the South is driven by a combination of
agriculture and manufacturing jobs. And because so many of the lower-wage manufacturing jobs have
left this country and because commodity prices are so low, there’s very little— I mean, we have generation after generation of farmers where people are just talking about going out of business because they can’t make ends meet. And it is, fortunately or unfortunately, a part of the backbone of the rural economy in America." John Edwards

Bush translation: "This is the fight I started in Iraq, and it's the fight I'm in. Every one of us wishes this war were over. Yet it would not be like me to leave my promises unkept, my friends abandoned, and my own security at risk. Ladies and gentlemen: On this day, at this hour, it is still within my power to shape the outcome of this battle for oil and corporate welfare. Let us find our resolve, and turn events toward profit."

News Flash: The only way NeoConservatism will hold on to it's power is by the barrel of a gun. It's Planet not an f'ing Empire.

And now the entire Iraq lie/mess is squarely hanging around your neck.

  2. Yes, I'm sure John Edwards is going to do a lot of farming on his new estate. Oky doky...
