Iran’s unstable President has publicly threatened “fierce” consequences should Israel attack Syria during this rapidly escalating situation. Ahmadinejad described any attack on Syria as an attack on the entire Islamic world. Meanwhile Hezbollah had threatened that it will activate its long-range rockets to attack large Israeli infrastructure facilities in and Haifa, and beyond, should Israel attack the headquarters and offices of Hezbollah located in Southern Beirut. Moments ago, those offices were indeed bombed by Israeli aircraft in a bold statement by Israel that it will not be deterred. Hezbollah will now have to decide on its next card.
