As Attitudes Harden: US prepares military blitz against Iran's nuclear sites

As attitudes toward Islamic countries begin to harden in Europe over the cartoon riots, today marks the day of the first detailed major press reports of US preparations for a massive air strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. Until now, such reports were a matter of internet chatter on the blogs; now the reports have graduated to a number of mainstream papers, particularly out of the UK. Let us all hope that, indeed, the United States Central Command is preparing for such a scenario. Let us also hope that it won’t be necessary. Unfortunately and predictably, Iran seems to be backing the civilized world into a corner in which action will be the only viable alternative to the unthinkable – an Iranian bomb hanging over our heads.
