The latest poster-child in a long series of blabber-mouths is Major General Giora Eiland who announced over IDF radio yesterday that "a ground incursion into Gaza would severely impede IDF efforts if a war with Syria and Hezbollah were to break out over the summer." He continued: "The chances for a war breaking out are slim," however, "in order to forestall [a war], the IDF must bolster its deterrence policy."
Really! Gee thanks General Eiland. Thanks for informing the enemy that you, as an Israeli military leader are not prepared for a multi-front confrontation, and that the enemy can "severely impede IDF efforts" if it chooses. Thanks for letting the enemy know that the IDF is restrained from entering Gaza (where rockets are raining in from daily) and are afraid of a confrontation with Syria or Hezbollah. Where is the "deterrence" in that kind of public whining? Do you really think they'll be shaking in their boots from that, General?
What exactly is the strategic value of making pathetic public proclamations of weakness and insecurity that serves no one but the enemy (even if true)? In Israel there seems to be no discipline, no secrets, and plenty publicity-whoring for big-ego, low-accomplishment generals who view their careers as political stepping stones... I say all of these things out of love and concern.

Architect Accidentally Posts Complete Baghdad US Embassy Plans on Internet: Clearly, the Israelis don't have a monopoly on incompetence. The US can't even keep its Iraq embassy plans off the Internet! WTF!
