London: Capital of Spy Murders and Islamic Wack-jobs

Every day seems to bring new developments in London involving international intrigue and Islamic radicalism. Today's headline includes car bombs packed with gas and nails in the heart of Piccadilly that could potentially have killed hundreds. Islamic radicals openly demonstrate in London shouting "death to the Queen" because Salman Rushdie was Knighted, or whatever the latest excuse for rage is. Foreign Spy's are murdered by other foreign spy's with lethal doses of radiation or thrown off high rise balconies. Today's car bomb discovery was a simple matter of luck, and not the product of good intelligence or police work. Fortunately, the perpetrators simply botched it. London is becoming a real free-for-all.

London police probe death of billionaire Ashraf Marwan, alleged Mossad agent

The Newspaper Haaretz reported that an Israeli court ruled that Major General (Res.) Eli Zeira, who headed Israeli Military Intelligence during the war in 1973, leaked Marwan's identity, placing his life in danger. Two weeks later, the man flew off of a balcony in London. Further proof of my contention that the worst kept secrets are in Israel. For more info on Ashraf Marwam, check out this article: Egyptian billionaire ‘who spied for Mossad’ found dead

Hasta La Vista Baby

Arnold Schwarzenegger was Tony Blair's last guest as Prime Minister at No10 Downing today. Blair is expected to be appointed to the £100,000-a-year job overseeing peace efforts in the Palestinian territories. The appointment was expected to be announced today, but looks likely to be announced tomorrow instead. Lets all hope that he does not suffer the same fate as his fellow Briton, Alan Johnston of the BBC.

Summing up the Blair years: in the first year or so of Blair's administration, I had the habit of referring to him as "Phony Blair". But over time Blair won me over. He proved to be a principled and decent individual with a firm belief system. He did not fall into the trap of pandering to his party's left wing. Thatchers economic reforms, and alliance with America were kept in tact. As his popularity began to wane he stuck to his principles. I have plenty of minor criticisms but the big picture will clearly show that Tony Blair was a successful Prime Minister; a good, honest man who did his best. Unfortunately, he is being set up for failure with this new "Middle East Special Envoy" position, which in my view will only force him to pander to extremist elements, damaging his image.

Lefty-crapman Revisited - The Liberal Equivalent of the Flag Raising on Iwo Jima

A quick reminder of the "intellectual depth" of the far left in this country. The image that many of us can't forget: A lefty "anti-war" demonstrator defecating on an American flag in Portland in front of a crowd of "progressives", including children. Thank you liberal America, a monument to this guy will undoubtedly be unveiled in Berkley:
By contrast: Of course, in the liberal mind, those who raised the flag on Iwo Jima did so, so that this "demonstrator" in Portland would have the right the defecate on that flag, and that he is actually a hero of sorts, morally equivalent to the Iwo Jima flag raisers because he is courageously exercising his unpopular right to crap on the flag. This is how the liberal mind works. It's truly a psychotic condition that requires years of therapy.

John Stuart Mill:"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing that is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept free by the exertions of other men better than himself."

Judge Rules in Favor of Dry Cleaners in $54 Million Pants Lawsuit

I posted on this story when it first appeared, so a follow-up would be appropriate. It seems that the Judge ruled against the other Judge who filed the ridicules suit, and awarded the owners of the dry cleaners court cost (not the same as legal fees).

That this case ever got to trial is a stunning indictment of the US legal system. It lingered in the system for two years, putting these small business owners through hell on earth, nearly bankrupting them and causing them to flee the country.

The fact that the plaintiff is a sitting Judge tells you a lot about our justice system. The man should be disbarred, forced to pay all costs and fees, and sent to a mental institution for evaluation. Instead, the system took his claim of $64 million dollars for a pair of pants seriously. Side note: is the Judge-plaintiff in question a Democrat? I don't know yet but I'm giving it a 99% chance.

Kidnapped BBC reporter shown in tape wearing an explosive belt

You can really feel the "love" of these Palestinian militants, and you can really feel the BBC squirm. The pro-Palestinian UK public news network simply can't imagine how they, of all media, should be singled out by any Palestinian group after carrying the water for their cause for so many years.

Cameron's Mao Bag raises Eyebrows in Peru, home to former ruthless Maoist insurgency

I love stories of lefty Hollywood types getting in trouble while trekking around the world assuming that Hollywood values apply automatically everywhere. Last month I posted on Richard Gere being brought up on charges of obscenity in India after planting a kiss on a famous Indian actress on stage at an "AIDS awareness" event. Today we have Cameron Diaz strolling about Peru with a Hollywood-trendy Mao bag. Peru, of course, was home of a ruthless Maoist terrorist insurgency that killed thousands during the 80's and 90's. Diaz, being the Hollywood lefty-airhead that she is, had no clue of that traumatic history, or that Mao might not be as appreciated in Peru as he is in a place like Hollywood, where left-wing murdering tyrants like Mao and Che Gavera are celebrated as pop-culture "cool."

Friday Night Reflection

I grew up in Mobile Alabama in the 1960's and was raised to respect and identify with the struggle of Blacks for equality. Our family was unusual that way, especially in the deep South at that time. I remember my grandfather, a religious man, would not tolerate any kind of derogatory language of blacks in his presence, even if in light-hearted jest, and he was the first to hire black engineers in the deep south, a move that created tension and hostile phone calls to his home. It was only years later, reflecting back, that I am able to truly appreciate what a principled and decent man he was, and can only hope to live up to his example.

I am truly perplexed at how so many blacks have since adopted the Democratic party as their ideological home. The Democratic party was the party of slavery, and later the party of Jim Crow. Indeed, every single KKK segregationist in the South was a Democrat (most people forget this). Sheriff Bull Conner and everyone like him were card carrying Democrats. Republicans waged a great war at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives to establish that slavery would not stand in America. Republicans voted proportionally in higher numbers for the 1964 Civil Rights act than did Democrats. That legacy alone should be enough to cause every African American to pause and reflect.

In the song above, Sam Cooke expresses the powerful desire for basic dignity that was so wrongly denied of an entire people because of race. African America's truly share a unique history in America. It's a shame that in our grievance-culture, so many other groups like CAIR and NOW and La Raza have hitched an undeserving "victimization" ride on the African American experience, cheapening it in the process.

Iran's intends to "swarm" the US Navy with 1,000 heavily armed speedboats in the Gulf

The tactic will be to overwhelm the larger, slower moving US navel vessels and choke off the Straits of Hormuz (in image) where 40% of the worlds oil supply moves through. The Iranian vessels are armed with cruise missiles, mines, torpedoes and rocket-propelled grenades, are up to 23 meters in length and can reach a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The idea is to surprise and "swarm" large US naval vessels with up to 100 attack speedboats at a time, overwhelming our superior firepower with surprise, speed and numbers.
Meanwhile, A third US carrier, USS Enterprise Strike Group is speeding towards the Persian Gulf: According to DEBKAfile’s military sources, (not always reliable according to my experience):

The US naval build-up off the shores of Iran marks rising military tensions in the region, accentuated by last week’s Hamas victory which has endowed Iran with a military foothold on Israel’s southwestern border. The USS Enterprise CVN 65-Big E Strike Group will join the USS Stennis and the USS Nimitz carriers, building up the largest sea, air, marine concentration the United States has ever deployed opposite Iran.

UK Muslims: 'May God Curse the Queen'..."death to the Queen"... as they Burn the Flag of England

Britain's enemy-within were on the streets of London again today, this time directing their regularly scheduled rage at the Knighting of author Salman Rushdie. The demonstrators carried signs calling on God to curse the Queen, shouting "death to the Queen" and burning a flag of St. George. (Question: is anyone in England familiar with the word "DEPORTATION"?).

Meanwhile. in Pakistan anti British fervor is reaching new heights over the Knighting of Rushdie: "The British government has not withdrawn the title which has not only disappointed the entire Pakistani nation but has also hurt it. This august house again calls on the British government and its Prime Minister Tony Blair to immediately withdraw the title... and tender an apology to the Muslim world," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sher Afgan Niazi told the Pakistan National Assembly.

Religious Affairs Minister Mohammad Ejaz-ul-Haq, son of Pakistan's late military president Mohammad Zia-ul-Haq, told the assembly this week that if someone committed a suicide bombing to protect the Prophet Mohammad's honour, his act was justified.

A hard line cleric called on Wednesday for Rushdie to be killed and the next day the speaker of the Punjab provincial assembly said blasphemers should be killed. A group of traders in Islamabad on Thursday offered a reward of 10 million rupees ($165,000) to anyone who killed Rushdie. I can already imagine a nuclear armed Pakistan going the way of Gaza.

Meanwhile, even with the fatwa on his head, Rushdie and his girlfriend are looking fine if I may say so myself (check out that scar on her arm!).

Podhoretz: The Case For Bombing Iran

Podhoretz seems calm, thoughtful and to the point. But it's likely Rage-man will not approve:
Via Jawa, I learn that the Islamo-rage-man is back in the news. This time he's mad as hell at the UK for bestowing Knighthood on Salman Rushdie... and he's not going to take it any more! Behold the rage-man over past few years diligently attending Pakistan Islamo-rage rallies: photos of the highly popular rage-man at various riots are at Snapshot.

Radicalism is Destroying Muslim Societies

Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul are the Only Members to Vote Against Referring Iran to UN Trial for Incitement to Genocide

It was a bizarre display on the house floor as two members of congress running for President from opposite parties (but from the same alien planet) joined forces to vote against referring the leader of Iran to the UN for violations of its 'incitement to genocide' rules, for repeatedly calling for the complete destruction of the State of Israel. Apparently, the two congressmen either have no problem with Israel's destruction, or believe the entire issue of Israel's annihilation to be "none of our business." There are simply no words to describe the revulsion at these two moral misfits, who even look like founding members of the Hail-bop cult. The vote was 411 to 2. Members who are usually unfriendly to Israel such as John Conyers or Dana Rorbocher voted for sanity on this one.

Abbas: Hamas are 'murderous terrorists.' Carter: They're just a "Resistance Group"

While Jimmy Carter refers to Hamas as a "resistance group" and believes that they should be "engaged" by the West, the Palestinian Authority President refers to Hamas as "Murderous terrorists" and insists that there should be no dialogue with them. This raises the question: Is Jimmy Carter more Palestinian than the President of the Palestinian Authority? I will admit that it is strange that only a few days ago, Abbas considered Hamas "legitimate partners" in his "national unity" government. It's amazing what a few murderous rampages will do to a man's opinion. Abbas sounds like a former terrorist who has been mugged by a more ruthless terrorists, and is suddenly describing Hamas in terms that one would expect from an Israeli Prime Minister. Don't misunderstand, I like the overnight conversion but the entire situation is incredibly strange. This is going to take a little getting use to.

Stunning CBS News Report on Iraqi Orphanage Discovery

It is rare that a mainstream US media outlet will capture the positive essence of what our soldiers are doing in Iraq. Every left-wing Democrat, starting with Harry Ried and Nancy Pelosi, should be rounded up, locked in a dark room and shown this video over and over again. Just as German citizens were marched by US soldiers into the concentration camps to wittiness the evil, so they won't be able to deny it later.

The religion that gave birth to this type of inhumanity...well, there are simply no words. CBS News whom I rarely have praise for, deserve all the credit in the world for this report which brought me to tears. This is truly on a par with WWII concentration camp horrors, not on the scale, but on the shear inhumanity of it.

For Gaza's Christians, it's a New Hell on Earth

Sheik Abu Saqer: "I expect our Christian neighbors to understand the new Hamas rule means real changes. They must be ready for Islamic rule if they want to live in peace in Gaza, Christians can only continue living safely in the Gaza Strip if they accept Islamic law, including a ban on alcohol and on women roaming publicly without proper head coverings. Christians in Gaza who engage in "missionary activity" will be "dealt with harshly."
The dark new reality for Gaza's estimated 2,000 Christians comes after gunmen on Sunday attacked Gaza's Latin Church and adjacent Rosary Sisters School, reportedly destroying crosses, bibles, pictures of Jesus and furniture and equipment. The attackers also stole a number of computers.
