There was no joke, there was never a botched joke, and it was never intended to be a joke. This is just part of the eletist left thinking that those that join the military do so because they are losers. The fact is, is that many are motivated by the opportunity the miltitary provides. Others are moved by patriotism, and a desire to serive their country. And still others join because of the chance to gain enough funds to go to college afterwards. (Unlike the lefties, many of whom were able to afford to go to school.
