The Neocon Congratulates Russia for its successful operation today to kill Shamil Basayev, the Islamo-fascist maniac who was behind one of the most despicable terrorist atrocities in memory, the Beslan School massacre. It is worth remembering the hundreds of innocent children, rounded up, held hostage for days in deplorable conditions, and then massacred in cold blood by the Islamic terrorists as their horrified parents watched from outside the school. There is a special place in hell waiting for Shamil Basayev, a monster who got exactly what he deserved. If only we could now get Russia to join us in the global fight on terror, and not just on its own direct Islamist enemies. SOLVE OUR PRISONER PROBLEM: Kill, Don't Capture

Thankfully, one of the last "major players" is out of the picture. However people may have viewed him in the mid 90's in resistance to Russia, after Beslan he proved himself to be nothing but a blood thirsty thug who wished to turn Orthodox Christian Ossetia against Muslim regions of the Caucasus. Nothing to do with 'Chechen Resistance'. Basayev just wanted an end game in the causasus between Christianity and Islam. He failed. All he ended up with was the murder of children, a P.R tragedy for any cause he may have had, and many many Chechens themselves ditching any respect they may have had for this animal.
