The Demographics of Islam

I think it's fair to say that we Jews are not in a position to meet this challenge even if we are procreating 24 hours a day (actually, I'm up for it but I don't think my wife is). In all seriousness, it looks like it's going to be up to our Christian brothers and sisters to save the world from this encroaching disaster. Please, get started:

A River of Stupidity Coming From the Mouth of the Vice President

VP: Make sure that you don't take the subway to Mexico; but there is no need to close the border or halt flights from Mexico, keep the borders wide open, but close the schools, don't fly, don't ride the subway, don't stay in confined spaces unless you want to fly in from Mexico City, or if you want and come across the border no problem but close the schools... Huh? Possibly the dumbest man in North America speaks:

Update: Biden backtracks.
Update: Here is White House spokesman Gibbs explaining what Biden "MEANT TO SAY", during his daily briefing with the press, who crack up laughing. Even the Obama worshiping press are stumped on this one.

Congrats to Israel at 61

The Interesting thing about the re-establishment of the State of Israel is that it happened in the modern era and is documented like few other historic events. it's enemies openly lie about the circumstances of its creation but the historic record is so clear that they have a hard time of it. Below is the lead Editorial of the Israeli Newspaper Ha'aretz that was published the morning after Ben Gurion declared independence. It is a fascinating read that captures that moment well. Unfortunately, today, Ha'aretz is a left wing self-hating rag, but back in its glory days it certainly knew how to reflect the truth:

Today is the world's birthday for Israel. Today is the end of one period, and today is the onset of a new period. Today is the end of the British Mandate in Palestine, the Mandate for which the Jewish people held out tremendous hopes - almost messianic hopes - a quarter of a century ago, but which over the years came to symbolize a great moral failure. Today marks the expiration of the White Paper, that shameful document, which tried vainly to cloak in legal garb the vast betrayal of the historic rights of the Jewish people, but which in its nine years of existence succeeded in closing the gates of the country to tens and hundreds of thousands of Jews who could have been saved from the Nazi furnaces.

Today Hebrew independence has been revived on the soil of Israel after 1,900 years of exile. In the course of that lengthy period, the face of the world changed, the face of this land changed and so, too, the face of the Jewish people changed. But the bond between the people and its land was not severed, and today, as thousands of years ago, our ancient and rejuvenated nation, after an unexampled period of subjugation and suffering, sets about laying the foundations for a life of freedom and independence on its soil. And today we enter a new stage, a stage of heightened danger, in our desperate struggle with the neighboring Arab peoples, who have so far refused to accept the historic necessity of Israel's return to its land.

Hebrew independence is not being renewed during an hour of mercy. Nor are we being measured with strict justice by the [UN] General Assembly or in the councils of the world's rulers. We are not begging for the world's mercy and are not fearful of its judgment. But it is our obligation to protest against the harsh perversion of justice, in which attempts were made to heap obstacles on the path of a persecuted nation that aspired to a tranquil haven. It was just half a year ago that this world, the world of power and materialism, sat in judgment of us, and despite everything, despite the intriguing and the scheming, we were exonerated. But the world of material power lacked the moral strength to execute its own judgment, and schemers and plotters of all types tried to abnegate it.

And on this day, when we shall declare our right according to the world's judgment, which was not undermined and was not annulled, we must perforce do so in a hostile atmosphere. Great nations view us as an uninvited guest as we seek to take our place at the table of the nations. But no other path is available to us. Just as we reached our present status with our own might alone, so we must continue to conquer our state with our own might, in the hope and confidence that the world of power will accept us when it sees that we, too, possess the strength to safeguard what is ours.

But the campaign will be very difficult. These days of supreme heroism and self-sacrifice of the highest degree in the Etzion Bloc and at Sha'ar Hagai must teach us that the strength of our foes is not yet depleted. To the contrary: Our foes have not yet begun to wield their full might against us. Harsh times and bitter auguries lie in store for us. Many have already fallen, but many more will fall, and the boundaries between front and rear will become blurred. The great test still awaits us and we must all meet it. We cannot fight our war through the proxy of angels and messengers. Each of us must do his duty in the same part of the front in which he can make the greatest contribution to the struggle of the entire nation.

Great is the day, but exceedingly grave the hour. May we all display the valor, the readiness for sacrifice, the psychological stability amid the vicissitudes of the campaign, the faithfulness in doing our duty and the spirit of Israeli fraternity thanks to which we shall reach our sought-after destination.

And if we meet the test and are thus privileged, this day, a day of blood and pillars of smoke, shall be the day on which we lay the foundations for a life of security and liberty for ourselves and for our children.
Approximately one year later, a full one percent of the entire Jewish population of Israel lay dead, but a new nation was brought forth. 61 year ago today.

American Officer Gives a Gentle Pep-talk to Iraqi Police

The Messiah Causes Massive Panic in NYC, But hey, It's OK Because he is, Afterall, the Messiah

An Air Force One lookalike flew over Manhattan today without public notice and caused a massive panic as the giant plane swooped down low over New York skyscrapers. Entire buildings were evacuated and New Yorkers ran for their lives. The Obama administration said 'ooops.' OMG imagine if it were Bush?

US Continues to Stall on Swine Flue Action

As of this moment, all traces of swine flu in the US can be traced back to Mexico, yet the borders with Mexico continue to remain wide open, Flights from Mexico continue to arrive and all passengers continue to enter the US unscreened. The Obama administration remains without a Secretary for Health and Human Services, it remains without a Surgeon General, it remains without a Director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there is no chief for the Food and Drug Administration, and the President openly says that Swine Flu is "not a cause for alarm." The United States calls European travel warnings to the United States "unwarranted" and an "overreaction".

It is hard to escape the impression that either politics is playing a larger role here than public health, or the media are simply blowing this out of proportion. The Obama administration better hope that this virus doesn't have legs because if it spreads as feared, people are going to remember this early vacillation and failure to act when it was still possible.

Book Review: The Nuclear Express

I have just finished reading a new book co-authored by Thomas C. Reed and Danny B Stillman called The Nuclear Express, published by Zenith Press. The authors are clearly, extremely knowledgeable on the subject and have put together what is in my view one of the most comprehensive essays on the subject of nuclear proliferation that has ever been published.

Thomas C. Reed is a former nuclear weapons designer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, political manager for Ronald Reagan’s gubernatorial contests, Secretary of the Air force under presidents Ford and Carter, Special Assistant to President Reagan for National Security Policy, and a successful businessman.

Danny B. Stillman is a Los Alamos physicist with decades of experience in nuclear design, diagnostics, and testing. For thirteen years Stillman directed the Los Alamos Technical Intelligence Division; at the end of that tour he was awarded the Intelligence Community Seal Medallion.

It is hard to take issue with the accuracy of this book in which any reader who has even the slightest interest in the subject will find packed with fascinating facts and dates that shed a bright light on our dangerous road to nuclear hell. Stillman and Reed crisscross the globe connecting the dots, turning what could easily be a horribly boring subject for policy nerds into a suspenseful, entertaining, and most importantly, enlightening read. The first thing the reader is struck by is that, clearly, the United States would never have become the first nuclear power in the world had it not been for a small group of Jewish scientist who escaped Hitler, moved to the US and were eager to strike back at the Nazi's by helping the allied war effort.

But where I do take issue with Stillman and Reed is not on their impeccable facts, but on their rather weak conclusions, especially on the matter of Iran. With the possible exceptions of North Korea or a Taliban takeover of Pakistan, Iran represents the single greatest threat of nuclear proliferation this world has ever confronted. What are Stillman and Reed’s answers to that threat? That we should “stay in touch” with Iran, seek “UN Sanctions” and should they acquire a nuclear arsenal... to contain the crazy mullah’s like it's 1985... and they are the Soviets. Wow! In this case the authors are showing their age. Perhaps the radical Islamic concept of martyrdom and 72 virgins hasn't sunk in with them yet.

For two experts that’s quite a passive, Jimmy Carter-like state-of-mind. Clearly, an Iranian nuclear arsenal will spark the kind of regional arms race this world has never seen. Every single Sunni Arab state will rush to acquire nuclear programs and most have the ability to pay for it in cash. Certainly Russia and France will rush to fill such contracts without batting an eye. An Iranian bomb will very likely end up in the hands of their Shiite terror-proxies like Hezbollah, and an Iranian ballistic missile delivery system will threaten the European continent in a way that would make the Soviet threat seem like child’s-play. Not because it will be as large (it won’t), but because it will be far less predictable, or susceptible to old-school rational discussions about mutually assured destruction and all the rest. As the old saying goes, just one nuclear explosion can ruin your entire day.

Any person who is really concerned about nuclear proliferation would shutter at the very thought that Iran might acquire the bomb yet Reed and Stillman seem remarkably casual about it. That is one scenario that I would think any expert might find a way to overcome their personal inclinations towards appeasement and weakness.

Having said all of that, The Nuclear Express is a great read and will be a real eye-opener for those naively going about their day without the slightest thought of the real-world dangers of nuclear proliferation.

Felipe Solis Who Greeted Obama In Mexico City, Shook Hands with the President and Droped Dead of Swine Flu-like Syptoms The Next Day

Bloomberg is reporting that on April 16. Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archaeologist. The following day, Felipe Solis died of flu-like symptoms. President Obama is not displaying any symptoms but the coincidence is chilling.

Mexico seems to be taking every possible responsible step to try to contain this, including declaring a national emergency, closing schools and all public events. For that they deserve to be commended. The same cannot be said about US actions: Why is the US border with Mexico still open? Why are passengers coming in on flights from Mexico not screened for the virus? Why has the Obama administration failed to take a single preemptive action and is reacting to events rather than being preemptive? Wouldn't prudence dictate that the border be closed until the situation is clarified? Or do we wait until the pandemic spreads and then take that action after it's too late? Every case in the US and around the world is traced back to Mexico so far. Why wait? What exact number of infections in the US will justify closing the border? 100? 1,000? 100,000? 1,000,000? It's hard to take the warning seriously when the most basic steps like closing the border are not being taken at this early stage. Should this thing spread throughout the US via Mexico, people will look back on this moment and remember that the US could have taken preemptive action when only a dozen infections have been detected in the US, and chose not to act.

More "Tolorance" at Durban II:

An Iranian official screams 'ZIO-NAZI' at Nobel peace laureate, acclaimed author and holocaust survivor Eli Wiesel. Eli Wiesel was captured in one of the most famous images of the holocaust; he is the seventh prisoner from the left on the second row from the bottom: Below is an Iranian delegate to the United Nations conference shouting at Wiesel "Zio-Nazi":

Pope Benedict the Dhimmi

Only a day after calling for everyone to attend the UN hate-fest at Durban II where Iranian President Ahamedinejad gave the keynote speech, Pope Benedict the Dhimmi allowed himself to be draped in the symbol of Arab terrorism. You go Popey.

Somali Pirate Gets Free Trip to New York

Thanks to the Obama administration and courtesy of the US taxpayer, a Somali teen pirate got a free trip to New York, a free ACLU lawyer, and the paparazzi celebrity treatment upon arrival. "Damn, this looks pretty good compared to that hellhole hut that I lived in in Somalia. Will my cell have air conditioning and cable TV?... How about a greencard?" he was overheard asking.

Obama Has His First Meeting in the White House With his top Middle East Ally

After bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia, chit-chatting with Hugo Chavez and Daniel Ortega, and reaching out to Iran's Ahmadinejad, Obama has invited his closest Middle East ally to the first meeting of his administration with a Middle East leader in the White house:

UN: Hey, At Least Ahmadinejad Didn't Deny the Holocaust in His Durban II Speach

The standards at the UN are pretty low. The Iranian President called for the elimination of Israel, but in a giant gesture of good-will, he decided to drop his planned reference to the "dubious holocaust." The UN chalks that up as a major victory for tolerance.

The Iranian President was the only head of state in the world to attend the conference as a keynote speaker. The UN felt that even though Iran is a country where homosexuals are hanged in the streets, women are property, and the country is under international sanctions, that Ahmadinejad would be a perfectly suitable candidate to lecture the world about "racism". It doesn't get much sicker than that.

Finally: Israel Seeking To Purchase the Phalanx

A year ago I recommended that Israel purchase the Vulcan-Phalanx as a reasonably good, relatively inexpensive solution to Israel's Gaza missile problem. Unfortunately nothing was done and civilians along the Gaza border have had to endure another year of endless barrage of primitive missiles that could easily be shot down by the Phalanx, as Israel stubbornly insists on developing a domestic system that may take years to materialize. Finally, Defense Minister Ehud Barak has decided to go with the Phalanx. Better late than never:

Civilized Countries Walk out as Barbarians Give The Worlds Greatest Racist Their Full Attention

At the Durban II UN hate-fest, the leader of a country under UN sanctions, that denies the holocaust, hangs homosexuals in the streets, where women are property, and calls for the destruction of another UN member... Is invited as a keynote speaker at the UN "anti-racism" conference, attended by the absolute worst, most primitive, backwards and racist regimes on the face of the planet:

It is impossible to overstate the hypocrisy. Fortunately, the few European nations who wrongly decided to attend this filthy event in the first place, redeemed a tiny bit of their honor by walking out in disgust.

Thank You American Jews for Electing a Jew Hating, Israel Hating Sleeze Dressed up in Moderate Drag

For twenty years he sat in a church listening to rabid anti-Semitsim. But that was just not a large enough clue for our starry-eyed Jewish community. His list of long-time Jew-hating close friends runs longer than Schindler's list. But like so many Jews of the 30's, they just couldn't connect the dots. Predictably, the Obama administration has basically declared war on the Jewish State, is cozying up to every Jew-hater on the planet and revealing national security methods and tactics to terrorist enemies. I have tried to give him a chance, I have really tried, but every day that passes, my worst fears about this man are proving true.

Obama's America: Journalist Arrested for Practicing Journalisim in front of USC School of Journalisim

Well-known conservative-leaning Journalist John Zigler was arrested in front of the USC School of Journalism for: asking questions...not being "official"... standing in the wrong place, or some such BS. This is a scene from Saturday Night Live... only it's real. Check out the dumbest cops in Southern California:

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.): Tea Party Protesters Are Despicable and Shameful... Almost as bad as my Husband

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted "tea party" protests yesterday, labeling the activities "despicable" and shameful", but forgot to mention that her husband is a convicted felon for tax violations and bank fraud, writing rubber checks and failing to collect withholding taxes and swindling nine financial institutions out of at least $2.3 million dollars. In court she testified on behalf of her husband: "In my heart, I know that these mistakes do not define or diminish this good man".

Top Democrat objects to DHS report on “right-wing extremism”

The top House Democrat overseeing the Department of Homeland Security is demanding that officials there explain how and why they wrote and released a silly report identifying veterans as potential terrorist threats. Rep. Bennie G. Thompson of Mississippi, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said in a letter to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano that he was “dumbfounded” such a report would be issued. “This report appears to raise significant issues involving the privacy and civil liberties of many Americans — including war veterans,” Mr. Thompson said in the letter sent Tuesday. “As I am certain you agree, freedom of association and freedom of speech are guaranteed to all Americans — whether a person’s beliefs." Mr. Thompson said.

Conservative Criticism of Obama on the Pirate Issue Is Dead Wrong

I spend a lot of space on this blog criticizing Obama. But the idea that he deserves criticism for the pirate issue is petty and absurd. When good things happen on Obama's watch, he deserves credit. It's that simple. The pirate matter is not a huge matter in the big scheme of things but a successful outcome was desirable and that's what happened. Congrats to the Obama administration, but more importantly, congrats to the Navy Seals. I agree with Bernie Goldberg and disagree with Sean Hannity on this one:

North Korea to Obama: We Are Restarting our Nuke Factory

Hmmm, our media have investigated extensively, and have broken the news that... there is a new dog in the White House. But for some reason they can't bring themselves to ask less important questions like 'why do you think North Korea suddenly feels comfortable restarting their nuclear weapons program Mr. President?'

When talking about the North Korean policy, we always like to revert to our favorite video on the subject:

Holocaust Denying Racist to Attend UN "Anti-racism" Conference

In the Orwellian world of the United Nations, Libya and Sudan sit on the UN Human Rights Commission and Iran sits on the Non-proliferation Commission. So it should come as no surprise that a raving anti-Semite who denies the Holocaust and calls for the destruction of another UN member should attend the upcoming UN "anti-racism" conference; or otherwise know as the worlds foremost gathering of hate-mongering racists on the planet.

Obama: Islam has shaped our world for the better

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - Barack Obama, making his first visit to a Muslim nation as president, declared Monday that:

"We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over so many centuries to shape the world for the better, including my own country... Let me say this as clearly as I can, the United States is not and never will be at war with Islam. In fact, our partnership with the Muslim world is critical."
Let us contrast Obama's gushing admiration of Islam to the observations of Winston Churchill:

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslem's may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."

I would say that Winston Churchill's observation is more rooted in reality. Here is Obama bowing and kissing the ring of the Saudi king, the "protector" of Islam's holy places. I can't imagine Winston Churchill groveling like that:

Who forgot to tell the president that the United States does not bow or kiss rings, especially not to the rulers of countries where women are less valuable than sheep? He just followed his natural instinct:
In your heart, you know he's Wright.

Congrats to Tel Aviv at 100

The city of Tel Aviv celebrates 100 years this week. This is what the town looked like on the day of its founding in 1909 and this is the small group of people who established the town. Basically sand dunes as far as the eye can see:I have traveled the world and have been to many dynamic cities. I can say without question that Tel Aviv is one of the greatest city's of the world... especially for the young. Fantastic beaches, restaurants, culture and nightlife. It is rivaled only by places like Rio or Miami. Check out the sand dunes above and then the photos below. All done in a mere 100 years:

Oh My God!

Tradition has it that US Presidents do not bow before royalty, and certainly not before the King of a place like Saudi Arabia. Good lord:
